Hopefully, the question they asked him was, 'who can we hire who is not like you in the slightest?'

A team source did confirm the Cowboys had a recent telephone conversation with former NFL coach Jeff Fisher, who took the Tennessee Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV and whose regular-season record is 173-165-1, with a 5-6 playoff record. Fisher is highly regarded by Jones and team vice president Stephen Jones, but Fisher's three-year hiatus since being fired by the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 was a detriment to scheduling a formal interview.

Fischer as the DC would not be a bad move. The only question is how long he has been away from the game.

fisher just isn't the answer in the end. he's not much of a "visionary" and was "ok" as a coach. we have better options on the table. in the end, my "hope" is that we hire a coach and let the coach decide the rest.

otherwise, we're stuck in groudhogs day, just changed the scenery a bit.

Based on Jerry's age and the average life span of a human being, this is probably the last head coach he'll hire - so expect them to talk to damn near everybody.
everyone but jimmy

so what did they speak to him about, if not for the HC position?

It wouldn't shock me if they're thinking about going with an overload of head coaching experience, meaning former head coaches coaching both the overall team and the defensive side of the ball. Or they're thinking of hiring a defensive minded former head coach to run their defense and hold the hand of whatever inexperienced head coach they did decide to bring in?

Just spitballing, but that's what they did with the Wade-Garrett thing, and look at how well all that turned out?

Ha ha...I was joking when I brought up his name in the past. He will not be the choice, but it is scary some of the early names that have emerged. This Jerry run franchise definitely does inspire a lot of hope that things will get better.

That makes too much sense. That would be awesome

But we know darn well, that’s not what’s going on lmao

This Garrett firing is becoming some kind of 'monkey's paw' wish.
