I agree. When you hire an OC and take away his ability to be an OC then you are basically done.
This is why I preferred a guy like Meyer who was a leader of men more than an OC type.

Now we have a coach who was considered one of the stalest OC's who was bullied out of town by his HOF QB.

Let's hope for a better outcome this time around. But if McCarthy is neutered the way JG was then it will be the same result.
Jerry needs to just coach the team since he seems to want to so badly anyway.

Yes he was bullied by Rogers. Thus everyone knows Rogers is some kind of prick who doesn't even like his own family and his players.

I just think that Roger's claim that McCarthy has a low football IQ is unfounded. But McCarthy took it to heart and dedicated himself to relearning the game through analytics. At least, it seems, he isn't one to be passing the buck and blaming others.

Good for him. He won no playoff games or division titles. If that's the best coaching then I don't want it. he accomplished nothing while he was here.

That 2003 Parcells team had no solid talent on it. The fact that he won 10 games with it while trying to rebuild was amazing.

Also that 13-3 team that went to the playoffs in 2007 was literally Parcell's team. Wade didn't change anything. He just rode the wave.

Parcells had a lot to do with rebuilding this roster.

@TNCowboy You were saying? MM loves Moore. He actually talks about his favourite play from this season and its a Moore play.

:laugh:sure he does. I'm sure he's all in on a kid with no experience, no success, who he probably couldn't pick out of a lineup and knew nothing about 2 days ago. McCarthy has a phone book the size of Texas of offensive coaches he knows, yet he's comfortable attaching his entire Cowboys' tenure on a guy he'd probably never even met. Sounds plausible.

Cowboy fans can talk themselves into anything.

Welp, we've got our new Wade Phillips, and Jones is retaining his next Jason Garrett. Looks like Jones has that coaching nonsense handled for the next dozen or so years. I'd wager McCarthy's time runs out in the next 3 years or so, and it's on to the next coach-in-training.

Who cares about that 03 team if you don't follow it up with anything of substance. No playoff wins or division titles is what came after that. And no I'm not giving him credit for 2007 either. The guy decided to quit because he was so mediocre here and take his fat *** to Miami. Get outta here with that.
