Scandrick is turning into quite the chatter box. He must want a job in media bad.

And if this Witten thing is true, then nothing has changed. I doubt McCarthy is pulling together his staff and the first thing he says is "ya know, I think I am going to hire Jason as my TE coach".

His fiancee (ex now? I can't keep up) is a reality TV "star" and social media climber. It appears he's decided to follow the same path. Controversy = views and clicks.

So for me he gets filed into the "actor playing a role" category, just like pro wrestlers and your SAS/Skip types. Listen for entertainment if that's your thing, but not for informed opinions.

Oh nothing has changed. That's been made clear already.

OScan makes me realize that a lot of us Cowboys fans see things well enough

many of us were wondering if a new HC could build their own staff or if they’d be saddled with the staff Jerry picks for them

jay Glazer basically said nobody is being forced into McCarthy & presumably the Mike Nolan-DC hire was all McCarthy

I hope that continues.

Scandrick always seemed to have the personality for media. I can actually see him climbing the network ladder and working with guys like SAS and Bayless

You could do a lot worse than Witten at TE coach. How many of you that don't want him have ever coached? Just wondering....
I've never coached. But I don't want witten. The ultimate progress stopper never helped another te on this team and his boot camp speeches never worked. kudos to the great player he once was. But an emphatic no to witten the coach. Let him earn his stripes elsewhere.

Lol 1st of all, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that whatever level you’ve coached at has absolutely nothing to do with the NFL. No reason for you to pretend to know what it does/doesn’t take to be an NFL level coach. 2nd, I’m also willing to go out on a limb and say you don’t know Jason Witten. You also don’t have a clue what kind of coach he would make.

But the main issue is that the point of making a coaching change is to change the culture of the team. Jerry seems dead set on maintaining the status quo Cowboy country club.

Witten can come coach...

As the assistant to the TE coach...

a step above the coffee and make copy’s guy.

cut your teeth for at least a couple of seasons and blend out of being a player and fully into the coaching world.

I think Witten might be good as a broadcaster. Maybe he should try that.

Doug nussmeier did a great job with tight ends and with Blake jarwin problem is he couldn't get the jarwin into the game that wasn't his decision if he had his way I guarantee you he would have had jarwin in there more than witten

I respect that, disagree, but respect it

McCarthy is a reasonable man, but he is not going to load up his coaching staff with cronies from the past regime when his name is atop of the accountability chart. He may want Witten on the staff, but likely not before being shown something first. Being a HOF player doesn't exactly transcend into a coaching career.

A lot of people already projecting Witten as a coach on the staff and Rex Ryan even says they will groom him to be the next coach.

Keeping that country club environment in tact.

He also says Byron Jones is probably gone

Kitna would be a positive. Scandrick fits right in with these clowns.
