Who cares about that 03 team if you don't follow it up with anything of substance. No playoff wins or division titles is what came after that. And no I'm not giving him credit for 2007 either. The guy decided to quit because he was so mediocre here and take his fat *** to Miami. Get outta here with that.

So you think Wade had anything to do with that 2007 team? I mean Wade Phillips is available, they could have brought him back . . . How would you have felt about that?

You can't refute the fact that Parcells at least rebuilt the roster and made it better. Plus I think the Joneses learned from him. If he didn't come along Dallas may have turned out much worse today. Sometimes it's not always about playoff wins and division titles when the roster and culture is screwed up.

I'm impressed. Mike's the only coach out there with less imagination and luster than Jason Garrett.

I can live with McCarthy with Lewis as his DC.

Not my first choice but if you look at the list of coaches with experience in the NFL he is probably the best of that group.

Yeah if you are into the whole "got fired unceremoniously from his last gig" thing.

Funny how horrible he was regarded at the end of his Packer tenure, but now somehow he's gonna be great.

Brett Favre already texted him congratulations.

Of course, Brett's form of texting may not be what McCarthy is looking for.

Guess you don't like Andy Reid or Mike Holmgren or Mike Shanahan, etc either. **** happens, even Belichick got fired.

None of those guys did **** after they were fired either. Belichick was never given a real chance on Cleveland.

From what I've read on Packer forum, their fans seem to be pretty high on McCarthy as a person and think he will improve the Cowboys as a coach. Somebody said we will be more organized and disciplined, but less creative on offense and more predictable. Sounds like running the ball and play action passes are his thing.

That's a good thing.

Not a fan and think this is a poor hire. “No but I’ve changed!!” Seriously....that notion is complete bull. No he hasn’t,nor will he.

Tides have turned on my opinion on this hire.

I have to say, this has been a good weekend + Monday. Eagles eliminated, Saints eliminated, Patriots eliminated, Garrett officially released, now a new HC and DC. So much is happening!

None of those guys did **** after they were fired either. Belichick was never given a real chance on Cleveland.

Holmgren made it back to a Super Bowl with Seattle and would have won it except a epic blown call.
