I remember when he was the news/sports guy, actually an intern, on the old KZEW Labella and Rody morning show and they were a client of mine and I was down there one morning when Joe Walsh was sitting in on the show, actually doing the show, and I walked into the side studio and Mike was sitting there and I asked him "hey, what's up" and he replied in his deadpan way "oh, just watching Joe smoke a joint in the studio". Sure enough, he was and Mike was watching him. That was in late 1979 and there were guys doing hard time for getting caught with a roach in their ashtray. I stood there and Joe looked in and just waved at us and we waved back.

Mike Rhyner is trending #1 in Dallas over Mike McCarthy and Mike Nolan. That tells you how big this new is. I've been listening to The Ticket since I was in middle school. I loved Rhynes, The Hammer, and even Cobra. But Rhynes was my leader. This sucks man. Stay Hard Mike!

My first thought was they'd head back to The Ticket. Makes total sense.
Plus I've seen Ben's twitter feed and how many Ticket guys he interacts with HEAVILY of late.
Yeah I noticed that too. I just wish they brought KT with them.

I listen to the Musers and Norm still on the app but I haven’t really been plugged into the Ticket in general for years since moving, will the Hardline be Corby and Danny or what’s the thought?

Not gonna lie.
That video nearly made me choke back tears.

Another kink in the fabric of D/FW is torn away.
It's going to be a kick in the teeth when Norm finally hangs them up also.

Same.

I heard that Norm's contract ends in February so it could be soon.

Sports talk radio in Dallas was way overdue when he helped start the Ticket. I'm sure we would have eventually gotten an all sports station had the Ticket not been incepted, but the Ticket is a cult in DFW. The sad thing still is the Hardline at its best was broken up over 10 years ago when Greggo did his thing. I think the Ticket is in a bind because I don't think Corby can be the lead on the drivetime slot. They have to get a hot personality in there somehow to survive. I think the Fan had finally caught them in the ratings. I will definitely miss the Old Grey Wolf. Cuddos on slipping in this list of return cuts on his last show on Dec. 10 and nobody caught it:
Let’s Go - The Cars
Goodbye To You - Scandal
So Long - Firefall
Everytime You Go Away - Paul Young
Time To Move On - Tom Petty
Face Away - Todd Rundgren
I’ve Had Enough - The Who
It’s Over - Roy Orbison

The Ticket subreddit does not want Ben and Skin. I'm undecided myself. Didn't they flame out on the Ticket once already?

The funniest show they ever did was the remote from the old Red Coleman's on Liquor Lane in Addison one Friday before a holiday. Someone neglected to tell them that inhaling too much helium isn't a good idea and they started doing the entire show on helium and they were cracking themselves up so much they sounded like The Chipmunks. Then, a couple of them started to get light headed and the guys at Red Coleman's were on the floor. The Red Coleman's management was not. It was one of the worst pre holiday Friday's they'd ever had. People were afraid to come in. One of them was deepening his voice and he sounded like the Demon of Oz.

I did helium balloons in 3 of my markets and we had to watch the kids, they'd do so much they'd pass out. But it is a lot of fun to have a group conversation with helium. I did a sales meeting in PA on helium and that's how I know about the light headed thing.

Nope. Got "promoted". Went from weekend guys and part-timers to competing for major slots.

I am a really big fan of Skin. He's the most plugged in guy with the Mavs.

Ben I struggle with at times. He's a salesman at heart and willing to go the Skip/Shannon/Steven A hot take route for ratings.
But also will attach himself to anyone that will give him a scoop or attention.

I was a day 1 P1 and they created the genre basically. It has been beautiful but I'm not sure 1310 does it the every best all day anymore.
I am def dial agnostic nowadays since it is all apps anyway.

I love Sturm and guys who take the games seriously but also have a sense of humor.

All Eagles fans from PA are lightheaded so you should be careful or you could be mistaken as an Eagles fan.

I think Ben and Skin will crush it at the Ticket. They cut their teeth there and get the culture for sure.
They have entertaining shows and have done some hilarious stuff while still caring about sports.

The main issue will be the Dallas Cowboys. They are not insiders with the Cowboys.
How they handle the Cowboys will be the main thing. They could use that producer/3rd man slot which I guess will be Korby to be a Cowboys guru.
OR they will need a lot of Cowboys guests.
