"Mike McCarthy Brings Professional Football Back to Dallas!" should be the headline in newspapers all over America. The past 13 years have been hard to bear for true fans of the Dallas Cowboys.
But McCarthy's hiring has, at the very least, changed the narrative in Dallas from "Jerry's boy"; back to one of hope for the fans who know what this franchise represented and the ideals that made it great.
For the first time in 13 years, "Wait till next year!" has real meaning. Even if there are struggles, the fans can know that decisions will no longer be based on the "Let's try this" philosophy of Jason Garrett, but will instead be based upon a professional approach to the game.
The damage done over the past 13 years cannot be undone, but at least now the future can be better than the past.
We can enjoy the off-season for once; and look forward to the first look at the Cowboys under a real head coach.
Carry on!

They’re still Jerry’s hands unfortunately don’t forget
Yes, sadly that will continue to be the case but at least this change gives me some hope similar to what I had back when Parcells was coaching the team.

It is encouraging to see that Jerry is at least allowing him to bring in some of whom he wants for his coaching staff. That's certainly a positive.

It’s got the usual Leeblair dramatics. But otherwise a good post. McCarthy is a legit head coach. A self made man who worked his way to the top, not a guy who is in his position through sheer nepotism like our last coach.

Nobody knows what the future holds. But McCarthy is a legitimate, head coach who has coached in a TON of big games and beaten some really good teams.

It is exciting.
