With Nolan as DC, yes possibly. I prefer not, but won't whine if he is brought back. But with McCarthy on board with it, not a Jerry doing.

I think so too. I think Richard will flourish with Maranelli finally gone.

He was so great in Seattle that they fired him.
He was coordinator of the back 7 last year, and they were the worst team in the NFL getting interceptions.

That had zero to do with Richard. That was Marinelli. It was his defense. Richard only coached them to do what Marinelli wanted. Which was to play soft and give up anything 7-10 yards in front of you. Bend but don't break junk. How can people not see this? Marinelli ran the show. Richard couldn't teach his guys to be aggressive because that's not what the scheme was.

I am not saying I want Richard back but he coached under a god awful DC and terrible scheme that does not work in today's game. To blame the woes on Richard is not fair.

I was not a fan of Linehan but to blame the entire offense on him when it was still Garrett's playbook and scheme was not all the way fair either. Replacing him did nothing.

My issue is MM/Nolan needs to make that decision.

But really, I'd probably rather just move on from Nolan. Keeping the previous DC around with the new DC is just more unclear authority to the players.

Richard didn't show enough positive to overcome that. Move on.

I don't know the specific players but Slater/Broaddus mentioned the defense being split on him, some don't like him and are more loyal to Marinelli.

JJT said Bloom and Richard have serious friction. Richard wanted to bring in his own LB coach but was denied. The Bloom absence a few weeks ago was due to a blow up btw the two not a personal matter.

Charles Robinson also reported that Richard was wearing on players/coaches.

Do you honestly think Richard teaches DBs not to look back? SMDH... I blame that 100% on the player... we have bad instinct players in the secondary all of them.

Yes. How many times during the broadcast have the announcers said that’s what Richard told them? When the DB sees the WRs hands go to catch they are supposed to swipe at the hands to force incompletion. Something about easier to force incompletion than risk going for INT and getting burned.

Marinelli coached the front 4. Richard coached the back 7.

Marinelli has never told a DB to swipe at a WRs hands instead of looking for the ball. That didn’t start until Richard got here.

Exactly..................as far as I'm concerned the entire staff, outside of Moore, can be flushed like a giant turd.

lol he was not dc and still had to run marinellis scheme which is mostly Zone coverage. Thats why they dont get ints, it was the same before richards
ever got here.
It is up to MM I am ok either way, you guys are freaking out over nothing, and forgetting the most important thing.........Garret is GONE!!
We have a real coach now ! be happy about that.
