I've never coached. But I don't want witten. The ultimate progress stopper never helped another te on this team and his boot camp speeches never worked. kudos to the great player he once was. But an emphatic no to witten the coach. Let him earn his stripes elsewhere.
I think Witten will be a fine coach, but I agree, let his first foray be somewhere else. The first pioneers were the ones getting shot with arrows.

Minus a tight end. I'm going defense every pick if I were Dallas...

IF Jones is gone, drafting a CB in the top 2 rounds is a must.
Agreed. Cowboys unfortuantely backed themselves into a bad position (narrative was suppose to be Richard coaching up these young secondary players so we could easily let Byron walk but none of these young secondary players even came close to his performance level........).

I d love t o as a wr coach. He’d teach them to run routes and stay in shape.
Great receiver. Not so sure he'd be a good teacher. Sanjay lal has done well with the wr's.

Eh, I think a lot of teams in the NFL would hire Witten as the TE coach. There's really nobody more qualified.
I'm not so sure. The new generation of te's are primarily receiving te's. Few known for their blocking .

Which makes Witten even better of a fit.

It's not like he can't teach them how to be receivers as well. He's probably the best route runner as a TE to ever play the game. He can coach up subpar blockers well enough, but it's receiving where he'd be a bigger help. These athletic guys don't need someone to teach them how to be 6'6" and jump lol

Hmmmmmm interesting perspective cern. I think Witten would have been a better TE coach THIS year instead of playing for the Cowboys but If he's brought in by Jerry (now he's the ULTIMATE progress stopper) fine I have no problem with it because he's gonna end up in Dallas sometime anyway or he goes back to the broadcasting booth which was a total disaster, he's actually worse than Emmitt Smith was when he worked for ESPN!

I'd rather have Witten on the sideline than I would have him on the field.
