he worked with McCarthy the entire way in GB, varies jobs but was OL Coach/Assistant HC/Run game coordinator I think

Just to add I was reading some stuff about him and He saved a guy who was drowning while surfing in manhattan beach. He was named interim coach for three games which speaks to his leadership and what the players and front offices think of him.

also his dad was hired in NY to be the Giants QB coach by Bill Parcells right before he retired.

Still another reason this was Garrett's last year even if he won a SB. With the former dumpster fire coaching staff dysfunction, it was time for Jerry to change tactics. I could be wrong, but I think he learned to let go.

This is why I hated Garrett and wanted McCarthy.

McCarthy has a good coaching network or a number of good coaches that would want to work for him. Garrett grabs coaches from the streets, high school, the scouting department, and the retirement home.

Good lord, our special teams was ugly in 2019. This is by far the best staff hire. Love it! Now lets go re-sign Forbath and find a new punter. Any punter except the lowly, miserable Chris Jones.
