Rod Marinelli was the most overrated coach in Dallas. And that was a very low bar. Grateful, he is no longer stealing money in Dallas.

The DL cant go anywhere, but up.
Didn't he head coach an 0-16 team?

Few names I would love to see:

Free Agents: Chris Jones, DJ Reader, Danny Shelton, Andrew Billings.

Draft: Leki Fotu, Javon Kinlaw, Benito Jones, Rashad Lawrence

With the hirings of Nolan and Tomsula, its starting to look like we will be adding some beef in the middle of the defense. Who is out that we should be looking at, be it via FA or the draft?

Brockers or Darius and ha ha Clinton fix for s. I'm good after that.

This, will know how seriously we are about the DT's when FA hits and that will lead us into the draft. Which most pre draft have us taken Kinlaw at 17.

I don't want a fat DT. I want a disrupter. A guy that's also going to be a force in the pass rush.

They might prioritize DT more than Rod but dont expect a high priced one or one in the first couple of rounds.

Leki Fotu from Utah says hello

Tedarrell Slaton of Florida says, hold my beer.

Tedarrell Slaton*, DT, Florida
Height: 6-5. Weight: 343.
Projected 40 Time: 5.60.
Projected Round (2020): 2-3.
12/14/19: Slaton has 28 tackles with two sacks and a pass defended this year. He played well to close out the regular season, but he should go back for his senior year.

6/29/19: Slayton did not produce a big stat line for the Gators in 2018, but the big nose tackle caused a lot of disruption and plugged a lot of gaps at the point of attack. He totaled 21 tackles with two for a loss on the year. Team sources have remarked that Slaton jumped out at them and was impossible to ignore while grading the Gators' 2019 NFL Draft prospects. For the NFL, Slaton projects as a heavy nose tackle.

If you want guys that can be game changers, that would be Derrick Brown Of Auburn, Javon Kinlaw of South Carolina and Raekwon Davis of Alabama.

Most sites have Kinlaw over Raekwon ahead of Davis because he has more room to get better. I'd draft Raekwon and run. Brown wont escape the top 10 so it looks like Rakwon or Davis for us.

Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Height: 6-6. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Projected Round (2020): 1-3.
12/14/19: Kinlaw was superb for the Gamecocks in 2019, totaling 35 tackles with six sacks and two passes defended. In 2018, he had 4.5 sacks, 38 tackles and five passes batted.

The first thing that stands out about Kinlaw is his size. He is a tall, thick and good-looking athlete. After passing the eyeball test, one can see some special ability as Kinlaw really fires off the ball. He is quick to close and has strength to fight off blockers. Kinlaw gets in trouble when he stands up too high, and working on his technique will help him to get more out of his excellent skill set.

For the NFL, he could be a five-technique defensive end in a 3-4 and would fit well on the inside of a 4-3. Kinlaw has an early-round skill set, and if he plays up to it, he could be a Thursday night pick.

Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama
Height: 6-6. Weight: 316.
Projected 40 Time: 5.17.
Projected Round (2020): 1-2.
12/14/19: Davis has 45 tackles with .5 sacks this season and missed some time with a sprained ankle. He has been a tremendous run defender for Alabama.

6/29/19: Davis totaled 55 tackles with 5.5 for a loss and 1.5 sacks in 2018. For the NFL, he projects as a nose tackle in a 3-4 or 4-3, yet he could also play five-technique end in a 3-4 defense. His lateral anchor is rare and truly phenomenal. Teams just can't move him at all in the ground game. Davis' lower and upper body strength gives him a rare ability to handle bump blocks and double teams without giving up any movement in the ground game. Davis did not produce the big sack total in 2018 that he did in 2017, but team sources say they still felt that Davis was worthy of going as a top-20 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft if he had declared.

According to NFL teams' 2018 preseason data provided by team sources, Davis checks in at 6-foot-6, 316 pounds with 35.25-inch arms, 10.88-inch hands, and a 85.25-inch wingspan. They have him running the 40-yard dash in 5.17 seconds.

Like former teammate Da'Ron Payne, Davis has a freaky combination of size, quickness and athleticism. As a sophomore, Davis showed interior pass-rush skills with a fast first-step, active hands with functional strength to fight off blocks, and a burst to close. Davis can use powerful bull rushes to power through blockers as well.

Davis broke out in 2017 for the eventual National Champions, racking up 69 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks and one interception. It was his first season of extended playing time, and he was very impressive. Davis definitely has early-round potential for his draft class.

What is everybody’s deal with big DTs? Don’t tell me cowboys got ran over because that’s not happened. Look at the scheme they ran and patient rbs went behind the pass rush and had clear lanes because of the soft zone being run by Richard. Watch every game this yr if u want and u will see it over and over again.

Mathis team doesn’t need fat boys they need a different scheme which they’re getting.

I don't get all the Fotu love. He's the absolute definition of a project. He has a lot of chinks in his armor that would need to be addressed just to become a 3 down player in the NFL. Lots of concerns with him.

He’s a big body with a quick first step and strength to push the pocket. You can coach technique but you can’t coach size and athleticism. He has both.
That said I’m not taking him in the 1st round, but if he’s there in the 2nd I’m interested, even more so in the 3rd.
