Not really sure why it matters. He won't be calling plays and it will be McCarthy's system. I guess it might could help Moore become the next hot head coaching name if the offense does well.
The key is it better be McCarthy calling offense then I would be ok with Moore staying. He can like you said learn the game some more from McCarthy.

I doubt that "McCarthy's system" won't include a lot of what Moore was doing well if he stays around.

Exactly, its not going to be Moore or McCarthy its going to be the two of them together. Moore is really bright but had issues with playcalling and field management, both of which McCarthy will do this year.

I generally refuse to use the word synergy, but in this case the synergy between Moore and McCarthy could be special.

He's "leaning?" Eh, while the offense put up numbers, it did struggle at times. He should be tickled for the opportunity. That kind of attitude makes me want to show him the door.

I hear what your saying, but UW wants to make him their offensive coordinator and let him call the plays. He probably knows MM will be in control and maybe he likes the idea of doing things his way.

Can't see it happening as far as Moore calling plays. McCarthy isn't going to cede that control, and he shouldn't since Moore is going to be learning McCarthy's offense too and maybe contributing a few ideas to it.

He won't be calling his offense. It's gonna be MM's offense.
If this was true. Kellen wouldnt stay. McCarthy should have full control of the offense. Otherwise what the hell is the point?

If Mike McCarthy wants this then I am fine with it.

Kellen can design plays and gameplan and scheme.

he just made mistakes as a playercaller. Which is expected of a rookie play called.

he won’t be calling plays with MM as HC.

It’s a good situation

He’s looking at film...a play on film. That’s not real life as to my point of the marriage on sidelines in practical reality. Garrett say same things...and by end wanted more control back over things. That’s my concern..we get back in a messy situation of too many cooks in the kitchen on sidelines. But I am glad you did post that ...because it’s positive feedback on Moore.
But McCarthy highlighted that play before he ever had any idea he'd be coming here. He just saw a concept he liked and it happened to be Moore's.

I think the youth and new ideas of Moore would be a good balance for McCarthy's old school-ness.

And you don't have to worry about Jerry taking McCarthy's playcalling away. This isn't an OJT coach Jerry has to protect. This guy knows what he's doing.

From three weeks ago:

On second-and-eight from the Dallas 40, the Cowboys lined up in a power-run formation and design—seven across the offensive line, Elliott motioning from the left flank into a sidecar to Prescott, with Cooper and Gallup split wide left. The Giants had a cornerback eight yards off Gallup, outside the numbers, and a safety 10 yards off Cooper, who was inside of Gallup. At the snap, Prescott play-actioned to Elliott, flowing to his right. Nine Giants flowed to that side. Prescott pulled the ball out of Elliott’s gut. Both receivers ran quick in-routes, unchallenged by defenders, and Prescott flipped to Cooper, inside, for one of the easiest nine-yard gains of his life. First down.

McCarthy was visibly excited by the play. “The beauty of it,” he said excitedly, “is you can still run. It’s a clean run. But the free yards on the pass . . . that is such a smart design.”

If that was Garrett he would have said thats not part of the playbook. Therefore, we probably will never see it again.

lmao, you guys who were blaming everything on Kellen wants him to stay.
oh, I get it if dak doesn't improve it's Kellen's fault again.

I rather find out if McCarty wants him or not, I don't care what Kellen or the jones want.

It’s been stated multiple times, if Moore stays it’s all on McCarthy. All of the coaches are McCarthy hires

It's a win-win for both Moore and McCarthy. Moore can help with adding some college concepts to Fat Mike's WCO. Just like what Fat Andy did to his WCO once he got to KC.
Moore can learn from very experienced SB winning coach and get better at calling plays.

In his interview with Peter King, McCarthy mentioned he was trying to incorporate some of the new trends that's going on currently in the NFL offenses like RPOs and multiple shifts. That's right up Moore's alley.

In that interview with Peter King, MM specifically says that the person installing the plays needs to call the plays. I think there's zero chance he's going to cede control of installation and playcalling to Kellen Moore. I assume if KM is going to stay, he's going to be fine with that.

He'll learn a lot from big mac. Matt lafleur was OC for sean mcvay though mcvay called the plays. He was allowed to go to the titans sa s their OC. Did well. Next year he became pack's hc. Could be good for Kellen to stay.
