Just to be fair.....some say he was soft like you suggested boss man
He'll start tough, he won't be here long enough to get soft. At least I hope not. Lol

Well said, having a track record of doing it isn't the same as saying it.Except Mike has had well over a decade with players, Garrett had nothing but propaganda
Yet he still threw Romo under the bus, I think that speaks volumes for what kind of person he was.I don't really think that Garrett was even a players coach. Except to only maybe Witten and Romo. I don't see talking to his players or to even his coordinators.
While I see many times McCarthy taking to his players quite a bit on the sidelines and with his staff. Garrett seems like a fraud. He just claps, butt slaps players and raising his finger when we score. I frankly don't think he is approachable or personable - just a terrible coach all around.
We heard the same thing under Garrett.
Clearly that was nothing but a talking point and hot air.
If all this is true under McCarthy it will be a pleasant change.

I love it myself win or no win....just toughening up these guys and fundamentals. One thing that Cobb knows for sure is that McCarthy will bring discipline and accountability to the Cowboys.
“He is big on discipline,” Cobb said. “He is big on accountability and making sure guys understand what we are doing. The biggest thing for him is knowing your assignment — making sure you are where you are supposed to be and when you are supposed to be there. And making sure you are not making mental errors during the course of the game.”
Former Texas star tight end Jermichael Finley, who played six years with the Packers before being forced to retire because of injury, echoed Cobb on McCarthy’s discipline and tough love.
He just hopes Jones lets McCarthy run the team and locker room without interference.
“Yes, that is one thing he is going to have to talk to Jerry about, ‘let me do this’,” Finley said, adding that McCarthy is “going to get on you. It’s going to feel like you are back in college. You screw up on a play, and he is going to get on you.”
But Finley also said that McCarthy’s tough discipline comes from a place of love.
“He is going to pat you on the back,” Finley said. “He is going to criticize you. He is going to tell you why he does it. He is a dad. I was a guy who didn’t have a father figure. Having a guy like that was comforting. You want to play for those guys.”

We don't have anybody on the team as big as AR. After awhile it became his team and he just took it over.Yeah I don't know where all this tough stuff comes from. That whole situation with Rodgers, I felt like he was timid as hell.

There is definitely pressure on Mike to win now. This roster has been touted by Jerry, Stephen, fans and Media most talented since the 90’s with expectations for a deep run in the playoffs .I can already hear the last few Garrett disciples on the board after our first loss under McCarthy crowing “I told you so...maybe Garrett wasn’t so bad afterall!”
Much like Romo did. Which is common with a talented QB who becomes the face of the franchise. We don't have anybody on the team as big as AR. After awhile it became his team and he just took it over.
Yep... accountability!!Accountability? What is this foreign word you speak?
Thank god!
And the team under Mike totally caved whenever Rodgers was out.Yea, he definitely had his favorites and where you really saw this was his lack of awareness with what the pulse of the team was. He focused on the offense and just was totally hands off as far as the defense and special teams.
100%Yep... accountability!!
Thats the best part of this coaching hire. We finally can have accountability of this rosters talent. No more excuses the coaching staff is holding it back.
Yea, we’re going to be much more satisfied as fans with Mediocrity with a greater HC. LolJust the change in leadership itself is going to be a breathe of fresh air for this team. I think that alone is going to go a long way with these players.
I heard a fantastic analogy on one of the talk shows yesterday that you can tell your college stories to all your buddies and eventually the stories become stale, predictable, and boring. However, if you find some new friends, those stories become fresh and new again. I definitely agree with this and think it plays into the Dallas scenario. I think the players were just tired of the same song and dance with Garrett.
