What did you expect? Of course Jerry stayed. Yea, no flashy new toys in coaching but loads of experience coming in.

I am crazy exited to see a coach who I trust to be situationally aware who will call plays. In the King interview McCarthy said him and his family need football. Guy is driven. He’s making analytics a priority installing a team most likely. And most importantly took the last year to analyzed and learned from his mistakes as well as look at how the nfl offense has evolved. There’s enough there to get excited.
I bet he misses the money a little bit also.

The shakeup atleast makes the offseason interesting to watch and talk about. I was ready to tune out indefinitely if Garret stayed.

Yes, at the very least we have that.

If for absolutely nothing else, it's not Garrett.

What shakes me up is how close Jerry seemed to be with bringing Garrett back.

That is truly terrifying, and clearly illustrates how truly out of touch Jones must be. First, he sent out feelers about replacing Garrett last year, and then, when he couldn't get the one or two guys he liked better, he brought the clown back. And everyone knew it. And that undoubtedly played a role in this year's 8-8 debacle, and blowing the opportunity of a lifetime at winning a title this year.

But then, as a follow-up, this year Jones actually left Garrett to twist in the wind while he again looked around to see I felt he could find anyone better, even entertaining the idea that he could then potentially bring Garrett back? That's delusional man, no sugar-coating it. Those are the thought she of someone out of touch with reality.

It's scary.

It's not frustrating or anything like that. It's a football team. That's it. No reason to let this crap involve so much of your life, if that is what it is doing. If this is your "passion"? Find a hobby, a new passion. One that actually brings meaning to your life.

I will keep on keeping on and when opening day is here, cool. Sure, I will still be around here, but, I am not waiting at the edge of my seat for some boring off season news.
Well. Namaste........

Do you really think one would expect Jed to go anywhere?

Yea, usually I enjoy my summer’s vacationing, bbqing, diving, fishing whatever I can do outdoors. Now, I will be waiting on pins and needles for training camp for the first time in 5 or 6 years :lmao2:
I'm in this camp too ... except the diving thing ... I'll substitute skinny dipping with Mrs Point-of-the-Star while having frozen adult beverages in the pool.

This whole shake up, minus Jerry, is gonna make this next 7 months dam near unbearable.

A decade of **** on a shingle........and the house has been exorcised except for the devil himself.

Hang on to your lugnutz, sisters......this could be monumental or a movie we've seen a million times.

Well, Jerry owns the team and we know it's Stephen's and family's after. However, no one is completely exempt from Jerry he owns the team? However you just don't want a complete pushover. Mike seems like he will at least say his peace and bring a winning philosophy that Garrett couldn't bring to the conversation. Also more importantly, the guys he's assembling have seen everything in the NFL. Our preparation and in game managing, which probably cost us two or three wins and playoffs. Will IMO, be greatly improved. So I'm excited for those things. It's all experienced adults in the room now. Not just adults. I'm happy

I am a little more than excited.

Do you remember last week when we had no clue if JG was coming back and the somber mood around here? We had just put up 47 on the Skins and no on even cared.

Now look at this board. Full of life and excitement!

While I agree with this, this whole staff signing up this fast makes you wonder if something with McCarthy wasn't in the works already.

I couldn't disagree more. Things are looking WAY up. We have a talented young roster and Jerry fired the loser Garrett and has replaced him with a legitimate HC that was allowed to pick all his own coaches. I like the pick for DC and I actually like the fact that he wants to retain Moore.

Usually when Jerry hires these new REAL coaches he is more apt to spend some money in FA and get them the personnel they want for their schemes.

We actually have REAL football people running the team now!!! No longer do we has some yes man idiot. McCarthy is the type of coach that knows his #$%@. Jerry will listen.

McCarthy is the perfect veteran coach that will be the best for a young QB like Dak. Perfect fit there. HE is actually a REAL offensive mind that will get the most out of the skill players on this offense. Retaining Moore will keep a nice young mind in the mix to add some new ideas and keep things moving forward with the offense.

Nolan as DC brings an aggressive attacking style to his defense. Something we haven't had here in a long time. These guys value big DT's. That will protect our good young linebackers and allow them to make plays.

And we never have to watch the horrid Garrett in press conferences, on the sidelines clapping or patting fannies, and we never have to see his face again on any Cowboys website.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Oh...…...and we never have to hear the Garrett cry babies defend the worst coach in Cowboys history. :flagwave::clap:

That is a legit post right there.

According to this, McCarthy is only "eyeing" Mike Nolan. But even at that, who's to say Jerry doesn't want Mike Nolan and therefore he doesn't come to Dallas?

I'm just playing Devil's advocate here... I would love to have Mike Nolan as our DC. Don't get me wrong...

I'm just crossing my fingers that what everyone is saying is true.... That Jerry is in fact letting McCarthy bring in who he wants....

Its already been widely reported that Nolan is the DC and widely reported that McCarthy has been allowed to make all decisions on his coaching staff.

Well this does break the myth that the Jones' won't let a head coach hire his staff. Maybe they are seeing the lack of Super Bowl light which has been reduced to a wisp over 2 decades.

Good to see the off-season threads in full effect already.
