Agree!!!!

We are gutting the Number 1 NFL offense so our new HC can hire all of his old buddies .

This is why you Do Not let the HC pick the staff!
it was #1 but could be better what happened to them I the biggest games against a better defense? where were they to start half the game behind like no scoring in the first qtr? where were they when they couldn't run at all in some games or forget to running the 2nd halfs? it had issues and yes the pieces are there but we need a staff to make them better ie more consistent..

its why the HC should hire his staff , they know what he expects and less of the old way to become and issue..

Callahan was probably the best and we let him walk and so did Washington.. when you hire new HC you typically bring in your own staff..its the best way..

Begs the question of if Callahan is considered the best, or certainly at least among very top three OL coaches in entire NFL,.. then Why would the Skins allow him to walk rather than
keep him on in that OL coach role ?

Just about every new head coach usually only keeps 1 coach from each side of the ball to help transition both the new hires and players. Those leftover coaches also help the new head coach with some of the way the internal things are done. The New head coach also has to think those leftover coaches will be able to help the team.

Because he was interim HC and when he was the OL coach he was also asst HC so theres conflict when you make a HC change and they dont want any split locker room issues that can come with varying voices..Rivera most likely has a guy he wants that has worked with scott turner etc..

We had the number 1 Offense and an elite OL and RB.

What exactly needed fixed ?!?!

When were those numbers accumulated. Against sub-500 teams. What did this offense do against Philly,New Orleans, New England and even the Jets? When we needed this offense couldn't adjust. So the numbers are skewed also to an extent. Offense was less of a problem then defense but when it counted it wasn't consistent throughout the whole year

The problems with the team were the DC and the special teams coordinator.

The offense is (or was) #1

Not good.

Colombo is an excellent OL coach.

That’s a fact.
I didn’t say he was bad... I told you why it’s not a good idea. You want to win now? Or wait to teach this guy Mike’s WCO blocking system? Mike has his guys and they work well together.,a way they teach the players ,and have own terminology and language. He’s not dumping Columbo because he thinks he’s bad,or will be as a coach. He’s not the best fit for the scheme he’s running,or he would be the coach. I’m in this to win football games and this is business, and the buisness of winning.

Joe Philbin kept that big baby Aaron Rogers happy, I'm sure he can protect Dak! Aaron Rogers actually wanted Joe to get the GB Job after his intern period was up.

Not a downgrade from Colombo, and just another guy loyal to Big Mike in the house to keep Jerry's Boys out of the picture.

As OL coach he has had success including SB in Green Bay. I agree his time in Miami was not great but in fairness who has been great in Miami?

HC success doesn’t tell you anything about how successful you’ll be as a position coach.

I fully agree. HC has to oversee the entire team he is responsible for all phases. as a OC or assistant your focus is entirely on your particular unit. I think most of have seen guys who were great position coaches or coordinator who failed when they were given the opportunity

We’re not gutting the offense, we’re replacing some assistant coaches. See the difference?
