I would have preferred Campen as well. Philbin will always be that puts who had no answer when the Dolphins drafted Ted Ginn with their first round pick and they booed him out of the building.
His coaching path just seems to be all over the place since his college years with the OL.

WOW Meow.
Really thought they would have kept him.
But I like it that MM is getting the coaches he wants.
It’s really not a surprise given how pi$$ poor our O-line blocking was all season long.

They're giving Kellen Moore a lot of time to make the right decision. But at some point, that knock will come at the door.

Hopefully there won't be anybody in there when the grim reaper comes knocking.

As OL coach he has had success including SB in Green Bay. I agree his time in Miami was not great but in fairness who has been great in Miami?

Don Shula and Dan Marino, so been awhile I guess.

I like that McDouble has cleaned house but I hate Philbin. I hope he's a good Online coach. It's nice he's had some good coaching experience as compared to Columbo.

He has a system. Philbin knows it’s. Likely didn’t want the learning curve with Colombo

Damn. McCarthy is sparing NO ONE (except Moore). I expected a clean house but not this. Jerry isn’t playing this time.... he must’ve been really angry or disappointed to let it come to this.
Angry? At himself? He hired Garrett’s coaches and wouldn’t even let Garrett call plays.
I think Jerry recognizes his own failure. He won’t step away completely, and he doesn’t need to, but it looks like he’s actually going to allow his coach to make all the football decisions.

Ginn was drafted in 2007. Cam Cameron was the head coach. Philbin was the offensive coordinator for the Packers that year. He didn't join the Dolphins until 2012 when Ginn was with the 49ers.

Why would he have to have an answer for them drafting Ginn 5 years later when he became their coach? I am confused.

The way it should be IMO. This needed to be done.

Amen. Inconsistency, stupid penalties, poor tackling, dropsies, not coming out on fire for the big game -- fair or not, total indictment of the coaching staff.

Ten years for the HC to make it work, multiple off/def/ST coaches fired and hired, no one fired mid-season... it is time to clean house.

Big Mike doesn't have the same presence as Bill Parcells, but this is his way of letting everyone know who's show it is now.

As he keeps replacing all these assistants with former head coaches, but still part of his posse, it makes me even more excited.

Cowboys get more holding calls against them than any team in the league. Green Bay coached a blocking style that...I was baffled they weren’t called for holding every play. How will this play out in Dallas?

I am glad that MM is cleaning house. This eliminates any future excuses. He either does the job or he doesn’t, but it will all be his own doings.

D'oh! Thanks for correcting me, I must have mistaken one for the other!

Philbin can teach the Olineman how to hold and get away with it. There is a YouTube video out about the technique he teaches the lineman

This is all well and good but this is the Cowboys and won't get the blind eye treatment the darlings of the NFL in GB got.

Damn, Jerry really let him have full control.
I am genuinely shocked

Also, McCarthy is hiring guys with HC experience, not really new/developing coaching talent.

Maybe he too sees a limited window with which to work w/ this talent and hopes to get over the hump sooner than later
