The REAL Dallas Cowboys .
Not the hopeless case they have been for 12 of the last 13 years. The only year in which the Cowboys of the past 13 years were even close to being what the Cowboys of the past stood for was in 2014, when Garrett was demoted; Scott Linehan took over the offense and Garrett was forbidden to interfere.
2015 was the best team since 1991, but Romo got hurt and Garrett's incompetence destroyed what SHOULD HAVE BEEN a Super Bowl season.
But all of the futility of the past is finally over. Most of us can stand losing if we know the Cowboys are on the right path.
It's really not whether you win or lose; it really IS how you play the game. If you play it the way it's supposed to be played, the wins will come.
The Cowboys are back! And I am proud to say, I love the Dallas Cowboys again.
I think the Cowboys should have to play a nationally televised game within 30 days for all of us who have missed them for so long.
Go Cowboys!

Same here. I was one of the people who said if they bring Garrett back, I will no longer root for them. Tired of the mediocrity. Tired of Jerry. But now that he has brung in a Coach who has some cache and who is picking his own staff, I am back on board and can't wait till next season.

not sure that we can truly believe the fan who endorses Kellen Moore as the starting QB over and over and jumps to the Vikings at the first sign of trouble but he welcome back.

The bandwagon pulled up to pick you first 2 posters up.

Been with the team since an 11 year old in 1966. I have 3 tattoos ... one on my chest that reads "No CPR", one on my right buttock that reads "EXIT ONLY", and one on my left shoulder that is a Cowboy Star that has the words "ALWAYS" on top and "FOREVER" below. Commitments!

I thought about having Roger tattoo'd on my chest but my wife said no. Between us I think she was jealous.

Well we are excited to still have your conditional support.
Your support should be conditional, too. If you support them when they are doing wrong, you encourage them to continue in their wayward path.
Make no mistake- Jerry knew that there were a lot of fans fed up with Garrett or he would have kept him longer.
Don't be a part of the problem.

"fan" ... taken from the word "fanatic".

Fanatics stick with their team thru thick and thin ! Jus sayin'.

Not sure about loving the Cowboys but the Cowboys cheerleaders could use some love and if I was single, and younger, and well, no beer belly, and filthy rich, I could easily give them some.

If ifs and buts were candies and nuts . . .

I have loved the franchise unconditionally since day one. I am the monogamous type when it comes to following sports and not really the on-again off-again, polyamorous, shacking up whenever it is convenient type.

Used to believe I loved the Philadelphia 76ers in basketball. Later on, Charles Barkley got traded. Did not appreciate how that all went down. I had the option of divorcing myself from the team because of something I could neither control nor wanted to accept so I took the opt-out. Never rooted for another NBA team again. Did root for Barkley though lol.

On a slightly unrelated note, I wish a common, more inclusive definition of bandwagon fan could be universally accepted. There are too many loopholes to the term.

sure a lot of ups and downs , disappointing endings but you left out 2016! It was exciting we won 11 in row with an unexpected new duo in EE and Dak ..every week fans here stated we would be exposed by better teams but we kept winning.. we hit road block like 2014 with AR and GB,.. Mike Mcarthy was the coach so this is great , cant beat them join them..

really last year 10-6 and winning division and playoff game after starting 10-6 hows that not a good Cowboys story or team?

I get the pessimism becaue anythig compared to the 90s teams is goig nto be a let down, i only like to go back 5-6 years for coaches and players as they turn over.. we have had some nice teams in that period.. just couldnt get over the hump..maybe this is the start of another run... who knows..

I wish I could choose when/when not to be a Cowboys fan, it'd probably be a lot less stressful.

I also think it discredits your claim of being a "fan" if you only root for them when they're good.

I may get pissed at a lot of the things the Cowboys do and the way players act/play, but I'm still a fan. Probably always will be.

I don't want to disappoint you, but I knew how 2016 would end.
We had a great offensive line still and Dak looked great behind them because he was calmly standing behind a wall and picking out receivers while defenses focused on Zeke.
But I knew he would choke when things got tough in the playoffs.
He's a great athlete but he can't handle pressure.
Maybe McCarthy can help him with that. Garrett wasn't going to.
All Garrett saw was someone he thought would make him look good.

it ended on BAD defense pretty similarity to 2014 so your thought process is flawed..same team same player same coach that ended it all in a similar way..

its easy to say you knew because its 50/50 shot and hindsight is 20/20 but it doesnt take away of how exciting that season was.. if you didnt feel that , then you are a total pessimist for sure..
