Why would McCarthy choose Dallas?

Why not interview Ruhle or Myer?

Because McCarthy is the guy that Ruhle and Meyer are hoping to become one day. This team clearly has as much talent as any team in the NFL, there is no reason to go through the learning curve with a college coach if you can bring in a guy who already has a Super Bowl ring.

The Cowboys are the premiere sports franchise in the world. Yes... Jerry can be difficult, but you don't turn down an offer to be coach...

I’m really excited to hear you follow much of the rhetoric weve been gearing touted that we have one of the most talented teams in the NFL. Thanks!!

Because he knows how much meat Garrett left on the post-season bone... He has no doubt in his mind he can at least match the "success" Garrett had in Dallas and that could lead to a even better gig after a little time here or a BIG payday when the Cowboys resign him in 4 years..

At least you admitted you were wrong. Nicely done.

Overall defensive or offensive stats along with team record trump any little list of selective stats when making an overall analysis.

Trying to make it simple and obvious. Going off on little tangents to try to get an angle is how you got here in the first place.

Were actually not even talking about McCarthy anymore, which is the first argument you lost and the real reason we are talking.

You have also failed to acknowledge or comment on either the fact that Dallas was at home and Rogers as limping on one leg when they beat us. Which in and by itself destroys your whole argument.
As usual, I mentioned specifically Rodgers (it’s spelled with a D) limping on one leg but unsurprisingly you probably didn’t read my entire post or were too busy selectively reading what you wanted to read.

I couldn’t care less that they were at home. I believe it was 2017 that the Cowboys had a better road record than home and the 2011 or 2006 SB winning Giants lost many more games on the road than at home.

Dallas rarely has a strong home game advantage so who cares?

What argument about McCarthy did I lose? I said I thought AR and Favre carried him. Whether I’ve won or lost that argument won’t be determined for a few years but as usual you twist things to somehow make yourself feel right about everything because you can never admit you’re wrong or even see someone elses view point without being a disrespectful, holier than thou ***.

Only feel sorry for people that say dumb things on a chat room. In real life, I would never hang out with someone that says nonsense like you. In fact, I am quite certain you wouldnt say any of it in person. People would laugh in your face.
I’ve offered to say a lot of things to people in person on this site and for some reason they never respond, typically they’re internet heroes like yourself, at least I’m willing to back it up in person and they’re not.

You said all I need to know, you won’t hang out with people who you don’t agree with or don’t tell you how right you are, that’s childish and pathetic. I have plenty of friends in real life and here that we don’t see eye to eye on everything and that’s fine. IMOF, I like having the occasional disagreement with friends and sometimes they even change my mind because unlike you, I’m not a close narrow minded arrogant jerk who thinks I’m always right.

The Giants wanted him to come back for a second interview when he accepted the offer from Dallas. You have no idea what was offered to McCarthy by what team. He easily could have turned down offers from Carolina, Dallas is the premier job in the NFL and also pays better, this is clearly where McCarthy wanted to go.

Its just not accurate to say "no one else offered".

How do you know Dallas pays better? Bottom line is he had other interviews before Dallas called and he wasn't hired by others. Do you really think he had other offers and then told folks he wanted to wait and see if Dallas would hire him and pay him more? Anything is possible, but that doesn't pass the sniff test.

I think this is a fantastic hire. McCarthy needs the Cowboys as much as the Cowboys need him. There is little or no staff experimentation. McCarthy is acquiring a support staff that is experienced and been in positions of greater responsibility. They know what it takes to win. I love the speed and aggression to assemble a first rate, RELEVANT coaching staff.

You attacked me buddy. I was simply defending my point of view. Then you started talking about me personally and what I am like in real life. LOL Which is completely laughable. Not to mention you recanted on at least one claim in the argument after stats were presented.

I can both dish it out and take it back. You on the other hand can dish it out, but cant take it. You want to come at me, you better have your facts straight.

"being at home doesnt count" LOL

Lets just move on. At this point, its difficult to even hold a rational conversation with you for fear that you will something ridiculous or get personal.

I would imagine he already got a big payday. Haven't seen the numbers, but I would imagine his 4 years is going to pay him over 20 mil. Prolly well over.

Wrong, I’m not your buddy and you’re condescending jerk with a very close minded outlook on everything you argue in favor of. Yeah, I recanted when I admitted I was wrong because I misread the stat sheet, I know that’s a foreign concept to you but believe it or not some people can admit when they’re wrong.

“Coming at you” is pointless because you’re so narrow minded you refuse to even peek or think about any concept or thought you don’t agree with. It’s either your way or the highway, you must have been a very spoiled child and still are.

I am a bit skeptical of the hire based on the rumors about McCarthy's lack of originality on offense and how he basically checked out at the end of his tenure with Green Bay.
However … he has the pedigree as a head coach. He is being able to bring in his staff, which includes veteran coordinators, former coaches and position coaches. And winning the Super Bowl isn't foreign to him so he knows what it's like to get through the playoffs and to a Super Bowl.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, not that I have much choice.
But if we can get any coaching and any discipline instilled in this team, we could be dangerous next year.

What a great add to his resume, to coach two storied franchises - Packers and Cowboys
And I'm sure he'd like nothing more than to prove he can bring them a championship, after nobody else could in almost two and a half decades.
