Any small chance for Irvin as WR Coach?

@garyv The Cowboys asked him numerous times to join the team as a coach according to rumor. Irvin already said himself that he wants nothing to do with coaching. As a former player he cannot relate to other players and would probably smack a few upside their heads.

However, I would try to get Irvin to be a motivational speaker before the game and on the sideline during the game.

I seriously doubt Michael would ever do that he's too comfortable with his TV gig although he is in Dallas quite often speaks with Jerry and the players about hard-working motivation so right now we get him occasionally for free? But you never know with Jerry Jones

No, the egirls just fired their WR coach. Might be worth a look, I was impressed with he way all those young guys stepped up at the end of year when all the WR were injured

Yeah, hire Carson Walch, he’s a great coach.

Signed,
Every Eagles fan.

In reality he’s been terrible at developing players, They haven’t drafted well but guys are missing assignments, being sloppy in their routes etc which is coaching. This year’s 2nd rd pick (Arcega-Whiteside) had 10 catches and was still getting aligned wrong in the later part of the season. That’s a coach who isn’t on top of his players enough.

I hope the DB coach is next.

he'd rupture somethin' tryin' to coach these guys up.
there is only 1 Mike Irvin....and it would drive him crazy that no one else can be like 88.
I like the thought tho.
Drew was a coach on Landry's staff for awhile.

What's Irvin going to teach them? The best place to score an 8 ball and pull strange?

The best WRs don't tend to go into coaching, for whatever reason.

Heck, the best anything don't tend to go into coaching for whatever reason.

Larry Bird, Ted Williams, Forest Greg, Bill Russell, Frank Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Pete Rose, and Mike Singletary are the only ones I think of on the top of my head.

88 likes the media spotlight. No way he takes a chump job like that.

Edit:
Bird was actually a good coach.
The rest, I'm not so sure about.

Personally, I don’t trust former players as coaches. Some do it successfully, but it’s actually very rare.

Russell won a championship as a player coach I believe. Frank Robinson was a pretty good manager I think (idk really) and Ted Williams was the Rangers first manager but idk if he was good at all. I want to say Forest Gregg did something to but again idk.

hell no. we don't need the guy who sounds like he's eating something and trying to talk. we just got through with this bs why would we need more of them. sheesh. why not a midget with a bow tie.

his best bet would be, mush mouth if fat albert makes a come back.
