Would you sign Brees or Brady?

For Trevor Lawrence I'd go 0-16 if necessary.
Justin Fields isn't far behind.

With one of those two, you wouldn't know Dak was ever here.
Lawrence wasn't even the best QB in the ACC. He benefitted from being on the better team. Not only that he isn't a proven guy and could easily be a bust in the NFL.

There was a sport illustrated article about talking about all the free agents that were on that team that year, and them looking at each other and having a feeling of something great. Here's another link talking about that team. "The 2000 Commanders: The first super team that wasn't" - https://riggosrag.com/2019/06/27/Commanders-2000-super-team-not/

Anyway the lesson most people got from that attempt is that filling your team with a bunch of aging free agents, is that they run out of juice. Skins went 6-2 the first half of the season and then ended up with a 8-8 record.

I believe the Eagles did that one year as well and missed the playoffs as well.

Your choice.....

https://***USER-BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1***/college/Clemson_logo.gif Trevor Lawrence*, QB, Clemson
Height: 6-5. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
Projected Round (2021): Top-10.

8/12/19: Lawrence took college football by storm as a freshman in 2018, compiling a flawless season that culminated with him ripping Alabama's defense comprised of NFL talent to win another National Championship for Clemson. Lawrence completed 65 percent of his passes last season for 3,280 yards with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions. The scary part about Lawrence is he looked like he was just scratching the surface and has the upside to get better as he gains experience.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder has a good arm, developed poise, and play-making ability. Lawrence made good decisions while distributing the ball well to his phenomenal supporting cast. Unless Lawrence gets injured, he should have two more massive seasons and has the potential to be the best quarterback prospect to enter the NFL since Andrew Luck.

If you truly really thought hey we could win the Super Bowl right now in the next 2 years. I know, it probably won’t Happen but what if you franchised Dak and traded him for a 1st. Spend our two 1st rounders to load up on defense, then sign Brady or Brees for 2 years? Just go ALL in. Why not now? Then after Brees or Brady retire we let McCarthy draft a young stud.

First off do a little research and tell me all of the QB's that were tagged and the team got a #1 for. them. Next for all of you that don't think Prescott is any good and if you ARE right (which I doubt) why would other GM's give up a #1 for a QB that's not that good on a franchise tag that only guarantees Prescott for that one season? Next both Brady and Brees have run the same offense for many years and would have to learn new offenses and get comfortable with all new receivers. Now this urge to get Brady is that based on what he was like a few years ago or this last season because it's been mentioned by more than one analyst that Brady showed definite signs that his skills have diminish . On Brees, even last year people were commenting on Brees arm strength at this point in his career. Lastly there's zero guarantee that whoever that young QB they draft for the future will be as good as Prescott let a lone better than Prescott. One one other thing, McCarthy has already said he really likes Prescott.

Relax man it’s a fun hypothetical that’s all. I like Dak, but I just wonder if we could pull off a Broncos like they did with Peyton Manning before he retired. They went all in.

Amazing isn't it? They ask for outside the box thinking. You post something and they get hyper......

No! We're not doing that!
No! No! NO...no.no.no....NO!

Completely different. Orton got replaced by Tebow in 2011 and then Manning was brought in to replace Tebow in 2012. It's also pretty much thought of that because of the broncos running game and tough defense that the broncos won a Super Bowl and not what Manning did.

If you're going to play these hypothetical fantasy games why not pick the 11 best players for each side of the ball from around the league and ask who would like that team too.

Well I remember the Eagles had the "Dream Team" :) that disappointed hard. So nice when its one of our rivals that does something like this instead of us.

What team may I dare to ask will give us a #1 pick for Dak?

Answer.....0

First off, I'm just going to assume that you're suffering from the effects of a head wound by acting as if a proven, top 10 starting NFL QB (the rarest commodity in all of sports) couldn't get at least one #1 pick, let alone multiple

The Broncos, Colts, Titans and, depending how things play out, the Saints and Pats, would all be interested.
But, for me the favorite would be the LA Chargers, with them offering a package starting with #6 overall and a swap 2's.

It's going to be hilarious when the people still holding out for an over-the-hill QB coming to Dallas are smacked in the face by reality. Brees, Brady, Rivers...dream on, boys and girls.

Dak is going to be the Dallas Cowboys QB for the foreseeable future, so hope for the best. Whether I like it, you like it, or anyone else likes it, is irrelevant. It's going to happen.

Let's look at that possibility.......

If I were going to make that move, I'd target Miami to be my trade partner. Miami has three picks in the first round, #5, #18, #25. They have 14 picks overall.

Cincy is picking Joe Burrow.
Miami needs a QB. The next three on the board are Tua, Herbert, and Fromm.

We dangle Dak.
If the grab it, we now have to draft a QB so we get Tua, Herbert, or Fromm.

How are we any better off?

A good read. Unlike other sports, you never really know in football. Buying a championship in the salary cap era is very difficult. You not only need the pieces but you need the game planning to make it come together. You can't get a super team through free agency. You have to draft well and especially in the later rounds along with some FA picks. Similar to the '13 Seahawks.
