He doesn't play a singles sport so stop parroting this career record drone and think for yourself. Lastly drone players or anybody doesn't keep getting better until the last days. Sports or life doesn't really work like that. Dak is who he is for the most part. You'll see some little improvements here and there but once you've been a pro for 4/5 years not too much big jumps in improvement you will likely see and this the majority of players not just Dak.
Good thing he’s already a damn good QB.

Phew!

McCarthy is a good coach but when is the last time a QB thats very mediocre was suddenly catapulted as a top 5 QB because of a coaching change. I cant remember any! If a QB has all the physical tools sure he will develop mentally over the years. But when your QB is already there mentally but lacks the physical tools he is very limited. You just cant teach accuracy. Some will say but Dak does make accurate throws. Sure he does but not with any consistency and thats what separates the mediocre from the good.

Mcarthy and Aaron had beef with eachother. Imagine that wow, when this guy gets a load of daks field vision he's going to want to want to kick him like the field goal kicker we need

Good idea. Instead of hiring a kicker, I say we use McCarthy. All we have to do is show him a play of Dak from the 2nd Eagles game this year (overthrowing people, inaccurate, bad timing, missing and forgetting wide open receivers, etc). and he will get fired up so bad that he’ll kick the ball straight through the goal post.

I don't think it would be good for a new coach to come in and say to the QB that will most likely get a long term contract that he sucks.

But as I said, if Dak doesn't take the next step under McCarthy, that means he hit his ceiling. I would HOPE that Dak only gets a franchise tag to see how he does with McCarthy. If he doesn't improve, then we move on. It's the most sensible thing here.
The same as last year. Don’t pay him and let’s see if he gets better. He did. He led the league for a while in QBR and passing yards. Helped lead us to the #1 ranked Offense. But he is still not as accurate at times as I would like and quit running with the ball, so I am on the fence. I don’t think he has hit his ceiling yet but not so sure how much better he will get. He did great individual things but we went 8-8. He can’t play Defense also and we had terrible ST with several missed FG and started drives deep in our own side.

Good thing the Cowboys don’t have a “very mediocre” QB

Shannon Sharp said the WCO is going to be a good fit for Dak... ball is out quick, progressions are easier (read 1, read 2, check down), and Zeke is a bread and butter bell cow back.

People dumping on Dak after he posted close to a 5000 yard 30 TD season are (to put it kindly)— wrong.

I will reserve judgment until we see how Dak develops under this system and coaching staff— but I am going to give him and McCarthy the benefit of the doubt until they show me it is NOT working vs the other way around

It only makes sense to wait and see and give it one more season with Dak and the new coaching regime.

At least we have a real head coach now.

If Dak falters and McCarthy is the one that says, I need a new QB. Then I am perfectly fine with him being given a chance to “draft his guy”.

I rewatched the 2016 GB playoff game yesterday on NFL Network. Wow! I had forgotten just how loose and great Dak played his rookie year. He was accurate to covered players, zipped impressive throws to Dez, back shoulder, slant, fly. He made a great fake before throwing TD pass to Witten, Witten’s first ever playoff TD reception (wow). He threw ropes to TWill who actually caught everything. He truly looked like a franchise QB in that game, but his playaction fakes were noticeably better, like that’s been neglected lately.

And our defense....holy crap!!! Despite all the big names like Lee, Hidgens, Carter, Carr, Claiborne, Church, Scandrick. That defense was worse than anything we saw this year. They were abused in the run and screen game by former backup wr Montgomery playing RB, and WRs and TE cook were killing them every play. And the 3rd and 20 pass with 10 seconds left that allowed GB to win the game was truly embarrassing and hurt just as much.

That single issue should be a fireable offense when Forbath was available all this time.

My beef was always with Garrett not with Dak, I think Dak can be a good QB who can win the SB with very good teams and coaching around him, I think McCarthy will help him a ton, he later said than in order for Dak to be successful we needed to give Zeke the ball and have a great running game. We don't need Dak to throw for almost 5000 yards and 30 TD's, we need Zeke to be the main guy a la 2016. this team can win that way,
