Cant believe what I just read, RIP and prayers for his family as well as By-Tor and the Snow Dog.
Think I may light up one and listen to La Villa Strangiato tonight.

Not only was he a talented drummer but an amazing lyricist.
RIP.

I just heard this. Whether you liked Rush or not, he was the best drummer ever in my opinion. I was fortunate to see them live 5 times and his solos were always amazing.

I'm as big a John Henry Bonham fan as there's ever been and even I can't call him better than Peart. As good of a drummer as he was, he may have been an even better song writer. Canada may completely close today. Those folks have hockey and Rush. Sad day.

I prefer the studio version, but thank you very much!

To be perfectly honest their studio work IS amazing.

That just happens to be my favorite version.

Neil was a motorcycle enthusiast as well...

I remember my younger brother kept telling me about this great drummer and of course I didn’t pay any attention to him. I first gave 2112 a spin and was floored. A tremendous talent Rip.
That album was the first Rush one I listened to and it had a profound effect on me. My older brothers turned me on to the good stuff from a young age and I'll always be grateful for that.

You're right. I despise Rush, but much respect for Peart....Explains why I had to keep changing the station today.
Their style wasn't for everyone but there was no denying how talented they were as musicians and they were definitely unique. Geddy on the bass and keyboards, Alex on the guitar and of course Neil on the drums.
