dear fellow fanzone freaks---- after reading the post that players did not fear Garrett and why

it is now concerning me if in fact Mike McCarthy will have the backbone to stand up to Jerry...

i sincerely hope Jerry after this season will realize he must humble himself and not try to steal

shine from coaches and or players....but i am not holding my breath...so what is your honest

opinion of McCarthy's backbone in standing up to Jerry when applicable?

thank you all in advance

sincerely

I think the better question is will Jerry be able to pay proper respect to McCarthy? It's hard for a coach to all of the sudden decide to go rogue if he wants to keep his job.. It starts with Jerry doing what is right and making an effort.

Everyone that has stood up to Jerry left as a result of it. So lets hope JJ just lets MM do his thing so we dont have these types of issues. If JJ doesnt back off we will be here 9-10 years later still complaining about the coach when really JJ is the problem.

Why should we assume there will be a need for him to stand up to Jerry? Seems to me Stephen is taking over the show.

cern--maybe on paper...but Jerry will always put himself into a situation..he cant help it

Exactly. No coach is going to stand up to Jerry, not just McCarthy. Jerry is the most powerful guy in the NFL. He’s the owner who signs everyone’s paycheck. Even Parcells didn’t “stand up”. It’s one thing to argue, to express yourself, but Jerry either gives you power because he respects you or he doesn’t. When Jerry said we are drafting Ware at #12, not Spears, Parcells didn’t walk out. Even if a coach is tempted to walk away from millions on principal (hahaha), he will never do that to his entire staff.

Jerry will let McCarthy hire his staff, make decisions about who plays, call his own game, etc. He will give McCarthy a voice at the draft and personnel table, but Jerry will still have the final say. Most GMs do.

He’s been dug in since the Manziel thing that Stephens taking over even though Son still refers to Daddy on most serious matters when asked. Lol

He re emerges when there a better decision like this one with Mike that it must have Stephen not Jerry.

The buck stops with Jerry Jones. Unless Big Mike is already tired of being the HC it would be a stupid move to "stand up" to Jerry Jones. Stephen is the only one that does that and it is done with a great deal of tactfulness.

Die--to be honest i am a bit impressed with Jerry choosing to listen rather then dominate
