As much as we all love Lee and Witten, keeping them around may do more harm than good in the locker room. We need as many McCarthy guys that are able bodied.

I know Lee and Witten would probably be good soldiers but their bodies are limited in the production they could give if the defense is a 4-3/3-4 hybrid and if they’re using the TE more in pass routes than traditional in line TE.

Jerry and Stephen will hate it but time to clear out anyone from 2010 or earlier. Except LP. The long snapper shouldn’t cause problems.

I think both stay in some capacity. Witten as a coaching assistant and I think Lee plays one more year.

More #SeanLee hate....

He was one of the best players on the team.

SLee is not our problem.
HE DID miss a ton of tackles. Made a ton too. Dunno what ben Bloom was teaching these guys, but tackling wasn't on the agenda I guess. OR COVERING backs in the flat on screens.

Will anyone defend Witten here? FINE, I'll do it. Witten's time as a player may have expired but I still think he has something to give to professional football as a coach. He'd be a great TE's coach to start out and I hope he gets that opportunity somewhere in the NFL. But I hope Mike McCarthy makes it clear to Witten that the time to make that transition is now.

We have no LB we can count on next year.

Witten can go. Lee can stay.
our strength has now become a glaring weakness. We have no choice but to address the linebacking group. Can't even count on LVE. Too many risks. DT/LINEBACKERS are big needs heading into the draft and free agency.

The uncertainty of LVE, Thomas a FA and the fact that was suppose to be a strength turned out to be a liability makes Lee pretty much a necessary rotational piece if he can will his body again. It’s sad but in my opinion he was our best LB and that includes jaylon imo regardless if his pro bowl . Drafting a LB or picking one up in FA needs be a priority after safety and DT

Witten can hit the road

Jaylon was woeful however..too many missed assignments and tackles. THAT must be better.

Its time for Witten to go. But not because of his locke room leadership.

Lee I could live with as a backup Lber for cheap.

Jaylon should be OLB..not inside. No matter, he must stop missing assignments and whiffing on tackles.

I would put Lee in the MLB pos. until Jaylon stops chasing butterflies out there.
agree. Jaylon was lost out there. He regressed. We need to bring in at least 3 more guys to compete in camp. Lets not forget we have Gifford too. That guy was pushing the starters for playing time before he got hurt. He had a great camp last year.

Let's just say if they were mules.....I'd take them out to the back 40.

great point. Let me say this, do not be shocked to see us move on from a few big name players after they get reviewed. I have a feeling Chido, Dlaw and Collins(maliek) are on the bubble. Dlaw was a stunning disappointment. Looked underwhelming and flat.
