Will Nolan and McCarthy want to re-up Jeff Heath?

like is said. No real competition. Frazier was actually better.

Heath is the biggest hole in the starting lineup.

Say your goodbyes.

I don't know if he is the biggest hole in the starting lineup... because DLAW sure didn't shine. He was completely JAG this year.
The fact that he held out and wasn't having surgery until he had a contract, and we actually gave him that contract... bit us in the *** hard.

I would say DLAW is a big hole... because the guy has a hole in his head. I used to like him...now not so much.

we'll see more drastic changes on this roster next offseason when McCarthy can see first hand what he has. I expect DT, LB, CB to get looked at before Heath.

We saw that it can get much worse than Heath this season when he was out...much much worse.

Clueless fans love to hate Jeff Heath

Obviously an SS like Adams from the Jets would be an upgrade; although he is not an INT guy.

If they upgrade at SS, Heath might be better at FS than Woods.

Im not sure about the infatuation with Woods. To me Heath is a much better, more versatile player.

Will they be satisfied with the play of the great Jeff Heath like some on here have been? Or will he demand they upgrade? Thoughts?
If Heath had ended the season healthy, he would have received a decent contract to start for some team; although it would be as a FS, not SS where the Cowboys played him this season.

Now that he will still be recovering from major surgery during the peak of free agency, he will lose a lot of money due to the injury.

Maybe we get a bargain for the player.

It was a given that DLaw would be limited in 2019 because of the late surgery.

That was major surgery that he had. A regular person with that surgery wouldn't even be alliwed by their doctor to play a pickup basketball game for 6 months.

Having said that, I agree that DLaw's personality is NOT good. He thinks the contract proves that he is great. He still gave good effort this season and will likely get back to form next season; however, a team can't have too many starters with his type of mentality.

What do you mean by versatile?
They've used Heath in all the ways a defense uses a Safety.
FS
SS in the box
SS in 2-deep
SS in the box but often isolated on RB deep passing routes (i.e. Responsibilities not given to slow SS tyoes).

Why would anyone sign a guy that statistically was one of the worst safeties year after year? Any DC that analyzed the Cowboys surely saw how bad he was on film.

The ONLY people that have a soft spot for Heath are a few soft cowboys homers.

See our DT position to see the exact same scenario. Good rotational player that has been starting too long. Gotta love his heart and special teams play.

As soon as the overpay him they will begin crumbling. Dak has done nothing but exceed a $600k player. He wants the pressure of a $30million dollar player and fans need to start expecting results of a $30million player
So if all he needs to do is give the results of a 30 million dollar player than all he has to do is play as good(or bad) as Wentz and Goff lol. He can do that surely.

I love Heath's toughness, he's good on special teams, and can provide quality depth. I'd just like to see an upgrade at starter.
