Not saying I agree necessarily with the reasoning but he had a much longer career.

Not hard to figure out if you look objectively.
That's why it's wrong. Jimmy started grim scratch and won two in five years. Took Cowher forever.

JJ will be in tomorrow,

Rich Eisen hinted that FOX has same thing planned for tomorrow’s pregame. Has to be JJ

Maybe they are firing Terry Bradshaw live. That would almost be as good as JJ getting in.

But are they really fully in? What is this "centennial class" thing? It seems different. Each of these types of inductees gets to be announced separately and differently? Thats odd. They say there are going to be 15 people in this so-called "centennial class"
wth is it? are they going to be some list displayed in the HOF or are they getting a full bust and induction ceremony and jacket and all that?

Jimmy Johnson won 2 championships to one, and more importantly, he put up with Jerry Jones for 5 years.
And the 3rd championship that JJ built practically coached itself and beat Cowher's Steelers in the SB..

They are fully in. The centennial stuff just means they expanded the process to get more in this year.

One played, coached multiple positions with multiple teams and had a better record.
All that said I don’t feel like either should be in the HOF before someone like Dan Reeves.

And if Jimmy does get in today does Jerry finally put him in the ROH or does Jimmy have to go the Tex Schramm route?

How in the world does this make sense?
I'm sure Jimmy still makes it in thanks to two rings and the perception that he built a dynasty. But the poster asks how it makes sense, and this is a sampling of what Jimmy was working against:

Retiring weirdly early, so he doesn't have longevity? Didn't help.

Having a career winning percentage that isn't anything special? Didn't help.

The boob who replaced him easily winning a trophy too, making it seem like any idiot could win with the lightning we caught in that bottle? Didn't help.

Having an owner publicly campaigning to wrestle credit away from him for years? Didn't help.

And having a coaching tree full of failures with losing records and no Super Bowl appearances as head coaches? Didn't help.

Cowher had more longevity, a better winning percentage, didn't have to deal with a toxic environment where his previous employer was trying to tarnish him in the media for years, and his coaching tree looks more successful. That stuff all helped him.

Even worse, Jerry Jones got into the Hall of Fame before Jimmy Johnson....or even at all.
