Dak improved but MM wants experienced coaches on his staff. This guy has a much more
impressive resume over Kitna who was coaching high school a year ago.

I’d rather have a pro bowl QB teach me how to throw than Nussmeier. His results at Florida, Michigan and Alabama weren’t great with QBs.

I presume the development of Dak is McCarthy's number one priority and he'll be spending a lot of time working with him. However, he needed someone that would coach similar philosophies when he was spending time with other players. Regardless, Doug Nussmeier has considerable experience and has worked in many different college systems.

Nussmeier is still listed as the Dallas Cowboys Tight End coach in his Wiki! Most often when these things are announced, the Wiki picks it up BOOM (is what I mean).

Didn't mean to confuse anybody.

Nussmeier was reportedly involved in the 2018 mid-season changes that resulted in a dramatic turn-around of the struggling offense. Obviously they added Cooper but there were obvious scheme changes as well. The reports were that both Nussmeier and Moore became more involved.

It seems that Nussmeier was in the 'click' with Moore and Linehan that were all empowered by the front office to push Garrett out of the offensive.

Side Note: Linehan wanted to leave if Garrett was staying but he didn't want to quit with a year remaining under contract (i.e. The team and Linehan were in agreement on him leaving).

Similar to Bill Callahan previously, Garrett was threatened by other coaches that were seen as better offensive minds than himself. Callahan departed for the same job with the Skins (OL coach) because he and Garrett hated working with each other.

In previous years Stephen Jones was not ready to push Jerry for Garrett to be replaced; therefore he pushed Garrett to be out of the offensive game plan and play calling. Jerry liked Callahan and they tried having Callahan call plays in 2013.

The problem (explained by Stephen Jones in an interview a year or so ago) was that Callahan was only given play calling but Garrett insisted on using his plays and Garrett made the decisions on which players played.

After that 2013 season Garrett insisted on Callahan NOT calling plays. The Joneses said OK but it can't be you either. They told him to hire an OC and that's how they got Linehan.

It didn't take long before Linehan and Garrett were at odds similar to Garrett and Callahan previously.
Source? Are you saying Stephen confessed all this in an interview?

The part in that paragraph. Stephen Jones said it during an interview on the Cowboys Flagship Radio station 105.3 The Fan.

Stephen Jones does weekly radio interviews during the season and numerous radio interviews in the off-season.

There is a list of idiots that have never listened to any of those interviews but they'll insist there should be a link to them. Don't put yourself on the list.

The Nussmeier is starting to make more sense. He was a QB and QB coach so it’s not like he’s out of his element. But it’s more like “how does he fit with McCarthy?” Nussmeier learned under a guy named Al Borges who is a legend at QB development. But still, what makes him of specific interest to McCarthy. Borges was a WCO QB specialist.

Mike Fisher was never clear but reading between the lines about somethings he said during the season implied that multiple people were working with Dak. Perhaps they liked this guys influence on him more than JK.
