Umm they had the same success while he was there to soooooo. That whole time we heard from Rodgers is being held back by McCarthy. Soon after he is fired, they are back in the NFC championship with a coach with no real experience. I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of their break up but the fact is, they are back to the top of the NFC right after he left.
And I was a big fan of the hire fyi.
That's what I told my wife when she got pregnant.Correlation does not always equal causation my friend. Remember that.
Excellent replyThe Eagles last season with Andy Reid. They went 4-12.
the next season they went 10-6 and made the playoffs with Chip friggin Kelly as their head coach.
did that mean Andy wasn’t a good coach?
Obviously we will know a lot more when the season begins.

There are risks involved sure.
a couple of things though.
1. McCarthy’s recent struggles, other than last season, were during times where Rodgers was missing a bunch of games or playing hurt and limited.
2. The Packers went out and got a defense this past off season with a bunch of free agent pick ups.
It may be a sign that McCarthy isn’t all that. It may also just be what it is.
I’ll provide an example that may put your mind at ease.

The Andy Reid situation is not exactly the same situation here. For one, Andy Reid had a washed up Vick. Chip Kelly came in and got his guy Nick Foles.
They have the same QB for both McCarthy and now LaFleur. That is kind of my point with this post. If it was a whole new QB he brought in, I wouldn't think anything of it. Rodgers complains about McCarthy. He gets replaced and they go right back to winning not long after. That kind of gives Rodger's complaints more validity when that happens. And it isn't even just about winning the playoff game. It's about the whole season. They won 12 or 13 games.

Here's their wins against teams with a winning record this regular season:
Vikings
Chiefs (without Mahomes)
Post-season:
Seahawks (1 man show; Russel Wilson) <-- I think the Seahawks were the 2nd worst team in the playoffs behind the Eagles. Their defense is cheeks and all 3 of their running backs got hurt at the end of the season.
The Packers also added Z'Darius Smith, Preston smith, and Adrian Amos which completely changed their defense & Aaron Jones was their best offensive player in my opinion.
The Packers have an insanely easy schedule next year.
