It's Ertz, and every team would love to have a TE like those 3 guys, but only a few can.

What could/would McCarthy have done with the HOF TE in training we cut after 3 years the soon to be great Rico G.

Having an Ertz or Kittle would be great, but really we just need a TE that is better than Witten/Jarwin. I don't need an all-pro, but I would like a significant upgrade.

This is a "hindsight is 20/20" comment. I'm an Iowa fan. I watched every one of Kittle's college snaps. Perhaps he wasn't utilized correctly, but he was nothing special in college. Props to SF for spotting a diamond in the rough, but blaming our scouts for missing him is a stretch.

Agree 100%. I have been posting for 4 to 5 years that we should have get rid of Witten. But I remember the backlash I got on the forum. This is the problem you have when you have an owner who treats the team like a mom and pop shop.
Such myopic thinking. When everybody things the same, nobody is thinking... got that from Mike Lombardi... I believe he was quoting Bill Walsh.

Bill Walsh also stated something to the effect that there are only a handful of teams every year who are trying to win a SB. All 32 team's really are not trying.

Jerry Jones does not care about winning a SB. He has three, he is a HOF'er, the franchise is worth 5 Billion dollars. His legacy is set. He only only cares about his ego and how he is perceived in the the media/press. He is known for the stadium, the maverick deals he made with Nike, Pizza Hut, etc, etc.
SB's are what we care about... It is all just a big reality show for him. Even though I 100% believe this statement I get sucked in every year. I should just go apple picking in the fall but here I am....
If Jerry cared about SB's there is nothing stopping him for hiring the best, paying the highest salary to coaches/ front office/ GM/ analytics/ scouting.

Witten was one of these guys but unfortunately his ability to do ANYTHING after the catch is G.O.N.E!

Good thing we don't have that loser Garrett here anymore to welcome that bum back with open arms and give him his starting role back and leaving Jarwin to rot behind him. Witten stunted the development of any TE behind him. Gave them zero chance. He's selfish and makes sure no TE behind him gets any looks or has any chance to succeed. I can't stand him and despise him at this point. He's nothing more than a teacher's pet who does not have to pull their weight at all and gets rewarded for being subpar.

You realize no one would even know who Kittle was had we drafted him here. That bum Witten would not allow Kittle to get any looks. Also, the brainwashed fans on here would tell you that Kittle should not see the field because he can't block. You know, like they say about Jarwin. It's ridiculous people still think a TE blocking is the most important thing. You think teams care if Kelce, Kittle, Ertz, etc can block? Lmao. No. They let them make plays downfield. Like they are paid to do.

I assume you realize that every other NFL team drafted guys ahead of Kittle that didn't work out nearly as well as Kittle either. That's the nature of the draft. It's not an exact science for any team.

Even if that's true, that would be on the coaches, not Witten. Witten didn't set the lineup or depth chart.

Jarwin can become a Monster TE if he somehow learns to Block. Maybe Nussmeier can teach him this Offseason.
