Ebron is also a borderline guy for me.
Part-time player who has had issue staying healthy and offers a good target at TE but doesn't always perform that well with the targets.

And he is pretty pricey.
Spotrac
Market Value
  • 4 yrs, $29,905,840
  • Avg. Salary: $7,476,460
  • NFL Rank: 250
  • TE Rank: 10
All that said, TE appears very weak in this draft and if so the team simply must grab a viable receiving TE somewhere.
I'm still holding onto a pipedream here and suggesting bring Dez and Noah Brown back to compete for that role.
Cheapest options by far and you can target TE1 next year, 2021, in the draft.

Harris had a very good season after being marginal prior to this past season. --he played on a 1 year 3m deal.
You'd be buying really high.

Spotrac says this high... oooowwwweeeee

I'd pay that for Ebron. His 2018 production before his recent injury was ridiculous.

What were we paying for Chariots of Fire Witten this year? $5 million? Like it was change out pf the couch cushions. I'd pay $2.5 million more for Ebron, especially if it's prorated on the deal.

He can’t block though. Neither can Ebron. I like Jarwin getting more snaps and I think McCarthy will use him well but TE should be a spot they address in the first 3 rounds. They need a more complete guy.
Does McCarthy's system still require a "blocking" TE? This guy doesn't seem to think so

I mean unlikely the Brady cap hit would/will be lower than Dak's in 2020.

for reference Jared Goff's new deal year 1 cap hit was 10M.

You have to look more than 1 year down the road. Jerry's already made that error. You can't pushing money down the road. Eventually, it catches up and hamstrings the team. And, you assume Dak's playing on a new contract instead of a franchise tag.

Offer Gronk a vet minimum contract and 2 months of weight gain, strength training and conditioning on board the Bravo Eugenia every year.

Lol at those thinking of replacing Dak with a FA or draft choice or whatever.

It's not going to happen. Period. May as well stay in reality and look for roster improvements elsewhere. Time better spent
