Hell I knew that would be the case. No matter who Dallas hires some are going to be upset. McCarthy is a good HC and like any HC the Cowboys hire should be given the opportunity to prove himself. Unfortunately that will not happen

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear McCarthy doesn't understand analytics. That quote is pretty painful.
However, he has what he claims is a newfound respect for it. And he talked about big plans to build an analytics department. If those things are true, there's hope that he will listen to them and learn from it. Time will tell if that happens.

I've been hearing for a year or so (that I've been paying attention) that all the research says there's no correlation. Baldwin removed any doubt that might have remained for me.

It's very hard to get people to accept that result because it seems so counterintuitive.
The reality is pretty simple. Defenses bite on play-action. They aren't thinking about who that RB is and they aren't thinking about how many yards he's gotten on his last few carries. They just bite. It's what they do.
