Is there any other owner who has fired two HOF coaches?

For anyone who cares. here is jay novacek fumbling the hold on a field goal try. It was a nice sunny day at texas stadium too.

EDIT also the other day on talking cowboys Everson Walls was talking about this game. He said at the end of the game LT was sitting on the bench exhausted and walls asked what was wrong and he said that this cowboys team was really good and much better than their record and they wore him out! I thought that was interesting.

at the 22:00 minute mark.

parcells intent is not that one play its what it takes to get back to that one play again.

if he were a quitter who blames players after playoff losses he would have quit in 85 when sean landetta missed a punt essentially causing them to lose at chicago in the playoffs. He literally whiffed in his own end zone on a punt.

or when Flipper anderson beat the giants in OT in 89. The giants were the only team capable of beating SF that year and they lost at home to the rams.

after each of those two tough playoff losses he came back the next season and won the superbowl. he knew exactly what it would take and how much work it would be and he basically admitted I am to old for this.

If he quit the cowboys because of Romo he would have taken another job after and coached again but he didnt because as he said a bunch of times after he left he was just too old and didnt have the energy.
Exactly. Had ZERO to do with the best QB he'd ever had the opportunity to coach.

Football had passed him by......it happens. I can appreciate that.

IMO Phil Simms was an excellent quarterback. That team should have had another ring.
Drew Bledsoe was also outstanding IMO.

Simms, Bledsoe and Romo were all excellent players. I wish romo got to play for Parcells for as long as the other guys did.

Simms was the "Bus Driver" Bill loved. And yes, be was coachable......Bills favorite.

Bledsoe had the best long ball I've ever seen. (JMO, of course. )

He didn't have the time to do what he wanted to with Tony...... saddle him.

You're post was spot on.

if you look at simms numbers you will see they are pretty much similar to the output of the qbs for parcells in his four years in Dallas. Carter in 03, testaverde in 04, bledsoe in 05 and romo in 06. All very similar numbers.

Bledsoe was a super talent. I remember watching him play live a couple times in his years with Bill in new england. he seemed huge in person and had an incredible arm.

I didn’t, actually. I did say he’d be able to get another NFL job though. Maybe that’s what you heard and you decided to run with it.

If you suck and obedient you can hang around for 10 years, if you screw up and win super bowls you're outta here.
