They better not pay Cooper

And for those saying Coop took himself out of the Eagles game, that’s not true.

We now know it was the WR coach Sanja that came up with that stupid rotation. Coop said he could have made a fuss about it and not left the field but Coop is not the type to defy his coaches.

Sanja got kicked to the dumpster along with Clappy so that rotation crap is gone.

So I feel better about paying Coop now, he didn’t tap out like the Cabo Ewok does every time he runs more than 10 yards.
Him allowing himself to be taken out the game is just as bad

You are the star receiver on the team and you allow a position coach, not the head coach, a position coach sub you out???

With the amount of talent at WR in this draft, no way in hell do I pay him. At worst Id tag him another year while the drafted WR develops.

Soft?

He played through brutal injuries. Literally played during weeks where he could barely walk.

Ignant take
Broaddus said this is not true. In fact people in the organization were quietly questioning his toughness.

hes definitely not soft but hes a bit injury prone and high risk to hand top 3 money IMO you saw a lot of inconsistency's in his effort and maybe it was the injuries' but either way he nowhere near showed hes earned over 17..thats my cap on the guy offer him 17 over 4 years..thats good pay and if hes hoping for that 19-20 Julio jones Thomas type money hes barking up the wrong tree as we see guys making 10 thats are just as good..i would go FA or draft if AC is demanding that big of a payday..

That's the business. It's not greedy, the players have to act in their own best interests.
I disagree. What good is a contract if you are not going to uphold it? Zeke was threatening to not show up unless he got a new contract. If that is the business, then it is a terrible way to do business. What he did was selfish and handicapped the team.

We need a team full of rookie contracts, vet minimums, team friendly deals, and incentive based deals. I wonder if we can hit the cap minimum that way. :muttley:

We should pay him, but he is not a top 5 WR at this point. I would love to see the guy a full year with no injuries. We shall see.

I like Cooper, huge emphasis on like. I would have no issue franchising him but they better not give this dude top 3 money or even worse make him the highest paid wide out in the league. Sorry to say it, but Cooper is soft as Charming like Kobe once said. I don’t want a guy that takes himself out of games and plays soft when you need him most..hell no.

We need to keep Cooper. We traded away a number 1 for him, and he is really good. That being said, the ridiculous contracts that Thomas and whats his name in Atlanta got should not be used as some measuring point for Amari. I like him a lot, but is he a top 3 wr?

We can not afford to pay a DE big bucks, a QB big bucks, a RB, a WR, a CB...and damn near the entire starting oline.

We didn’t trade a first round pick to NOT pay him. And no we shouldn’t over pay but based on what the fair market value is that’s what I’d offer.

Paying him top-3 money is extremely fair lol.

They should be able to pretty easily go 4 years, $72m, $45m guaranteed. That gives him an AAV just below Hopkins, 7th, but the 2nd-highest GTD.

By most of you alls take, we wouldn't have a roster

Get rid of Dak,
Get rid of Zeke
Get rid of cooper

Some of you all would rather play with Rush, Pollard and Gallup as the core for your team

thank lord you all aren't gms

Don't pay anyone and let's root for cap space instead of SB titles. Make Jerry Richer!!!

Do we pay anyone? Just curious? Over the last year, all I've read at CZ is "better not pay Zeke"... followed by see.. we shouldn't have paid Zeke for xyz...., Absolutely.. BY ALL MEANS do not pay Dak!!!! Don't pay Coop!!! Not sure which of our other best players CZ hates that we shouldn't pay. Just confused if anyone is deserving of a long term deal?

What even is this list?

Are you going to, with a straight face, sit here and say that Deebo Samuel and DK Metcalf are better receivers than Amari Cooper?
they were making big catches in the playoff games.

I saw Cooper walking down the street and could have sworn he was Tyreek Hill, then after he passed I looked back again and was convinced it was DaVante Adams. So I ran up to him to ask who he was, and up close he looked exactly like Michael Thomas. That's so weird.
you could have just thrown a football to him and see if he drops it .
