This guy was absolutely terrible this year.

There was a reason he lasted until round six, or whenever it was.

He is a backup safety in this league who probably isnt worth a damn on special teams.

Luckily for him he landed on a team that didn't think safety mattered.

Wasnt terrible. Did you hear how off the coaching was with 2 people calling plays that didmt allow the front 7 secondary to gel

We need new energy all over this team not just those 2

There is a correlation between great safety and DT play and Super Bowl wins. This are needed positions we treat as luxuries while putting emphasis on skill positions. It's flawed.

Re-watched the Bill Parcells Deep Blue documentary (Final Ride) produced by the Cowboys last night. Man I wish MM makes the players walk on edge (for the better) the way Tuna did.
I think if he does make players in edge there will be some crying from players.

Oh I agree we need a REAL 1Tech big bodied plug. But at safety Heath is the one that needs to go. However coaching plays a big part in ALOT of that. Look at the early Raven teams and Tampa

Mr. Woods ~ Please stop with the Superbowl next year crap. Win the division, get into the playoffs. This next year is a Superbowl has been chanted by Cowboy fanatics for 25 years.

Unfortunately he's not that kind of coach.

We saw that on the field. No fire no passion. They liked Garrett but they didn’t want Garrett as a coach more like an uncle who stops by and you chat with for a little then he goes on his way. These guys needed a fire lit under their blanks. I enjoyed the interview and like x

I agree but if I'm replacing a guy its definitely heath
No doubt about it. Culprit 1 and 1A though.

Let's see what they want to do. If they want to bring in a guy like Harris they certainly can, but that's Coopers money. Personally I want guys that act like they want to play, not extremely indifferent as to results. Long term Cooper, in addition to the deals already given to 21 and 54, would strangle this team.

Only so many underperforming contracts can be swallowed.

Need new energy at the safety position as well and DT positions as well. Until then, we aren't going anywhere.

I truly feel this is what is keeping this defense from being elite. I dont even mean a "ball hawking" safety everyone always cries about not having. I mean seriously, there isnt a whole lot of those around. Great if we could get one. but they dont grow at the farm and can just go pick one out of the field. But just a safety with hands that can tackle and knows how to take angles.

And DT, just a guy that can get consistent pressure in the face of the QB. Not a QB in the league can stand the pressure in their face. It changes everything. And one that can hold up the oline so these talented LB's can make the plays they need to.

Ticks me off those two positions have just been patched together for years and years when it consistently has been the downfall of this defense year in and year out

McCarthy, at the very least, has shown he cares about the safety position. We'll see if Jerry and Stephen meddle and keep him from upgrading.

It lines up well with who we dont have under contract. You'll see changes at DT and S this year. Two starters are UFA's with Heath and Collins. And two starters are UFA's next season (both Woods)

I agree. Except the jonses have been smart there with these contracts recently. Zeke's is voidable as is 54s. I personally would not pay cooper myself I'd rather pay 31s he doesnt pick much but one of the league best cover guys most of the time
