If the decision is indeed between the Rams and Cowboys this should be a no-brainer. Gurley might not have a few years left. They drafted Henderson and he couldn’t even get on the field when Gurley was hurt. Also Jerry has deeper pockets.

Welcome to Dallas, Stan Drayton! :flagwave:

He'll have Zeke and Pollard. No state income tax in texas. Jerry needs to fly him here on his private jet and cook him dinner at his highland park home.

If anyone is wondering why, I heard an interview with Zeke before the draft where he said that no coach had a greater impact on his game than Drayton. I wish I could find the video, but he said something like he Drayton was the coach who made him the running back that he is.

thats good info man, thanks

You’d think staying in TX and playing for more money under JJ, tutoring his old protege would give us an edge

Hopefully this gets done when JJ invites Drayton over for a spend the night at his mansion

I honestly think zeke should be the tipping point. And he doesn’t have to move far lol

Looks like it's time to get some popcorn ready and wait to see how this turns out.

I'm hoping that whoever it is that we end up with as RB coach that it'll be someone who lights that fire for Zeke again.

My friend, I caught your post at just the right time.

So it would appear that we're still in the waiting game for Stan Drayton. I did manage to come across a little blurb in a Dallas Morning News online article yesterday that mentioned:

"The Cowboys are still waiting to hear if they’ll be able to add Stan Drayton to their staff. The associate head coach and run game coordinator for the University of Texas coached Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott at Ohio State. The LA Rams are also interested in his services.

Drayton won’t come cheap. He made $515,000 with Texas this past season."

I'm really curious to see how this one ends up. I think he'd be a great hire if we're able to lure him away from UT and keep him from going to the Rams.

Sounds like it could be a longer negotiating period due to his previous salary and another team interested but it does worry me that he has the connection to Zeke and still hasn't chosen Dallas.

I didn't realize RB coaches were in such high demand to negotiate for months.........either he wants to come here or he don't. We have a team to build here either he wants to be here or he don't...move on................go pay state income tax, higher cost of living, enjoy the earthquakes and wildfires...........yup it's sure a tough decision.

I thought the same thing. I said we are waiting for a RB coach who made a visit to the star like a big time FA that is weighing offers. How much time do you need?
