then why would ATL give him up?
Not sure they have
He’s a FA like doazens more and like many of them, he may not hit the market
I don’t know their cap and FA situations but unless it’s a problem I suspect they sign him like many others will be

I like this guy. Austin Hooper, Atlanta's starter the last few years.
Granted TE has been a major need for a few years now. Witty is nowhere near the player he once was, Jarwin is a great athlete but a sub-par blocker and Schultz is a great blocker but lacks the ideal ability as a receiver. That said, I've read they have their eye's set on draft pick Jared Pinkney (from Vandy) in terms of both blocking and receiving.

He’s not as athletic as some of the other TE's in this draft but he’s got very reliable hands and is a better inline blocker than many of the others in this draft.

"Cooper and Hooper" has a nice ring to it.
....what a Pooper. :lmao:

Hoop was one of ATL's best weapons. I don't see them trading him anytime soon. Same goes for Henry.

It would be awesome to get Hooper. Just not sure how possible it is. Probably not a move the Cowboys will be able to pull off.

I'm wondering why we just can't look at Blake Jarwin?...….we looked at JWitt all year.

If Dallas is playing in the FA game this offseason. They should be looking at DT's and Safeties if possible. They shouldn't be as concerned with the offensive side of the ball as they should with the Defensive side. It needs work.

He a free agent, but he has the best stats by far of the FA TEs and the Cowboys don't like to overpay in those situations.

Cowboys should take a look at the top free agent TE? Like they're uncovering a hidden gem. lol I hope no one else is interested?

It's an interesting choice for sure. At this point it seems like we have quite a few other holes that we're going to need to fill this offseason besides just TE.

Given how the league is changing I could see quite a few teams being interested in Hooper also which will only continue to drive up the price.

I'd prefer for our new TE coach to get with Jarwin to see if we can improve his blocking at least somewhat and then see if we can't find another in the draft or as a UDFA. There should be plenty of options to upgrade the position there.
