Solomon Thomas is a backup who plays fewer than half the team's snaps.

The run game is good b/c of Shanahan.

The 9ers have way less talent than the Cowboys.
Have you seen their dline????????????

Is this the cause of the Patriots Super Bowl drought over thr last decade too?

How good would the Patriots have been if they drafted first every year? You think they would have been even better? If not then I don’t know what to tell you.

that’s pretty funny right there
Just go roster spot for roster spot.

QB - Cowboys
RB - Cowboys
WR - Cowboys
TE - 9ers
OL - Cowboys

DT - 9ers
DE - Cowboys
LB - 9ers
CB - Cowboys
S - 9ers

The Cowboys are better at every impact position.

Garoppolo has a higher completion %, higher passer rating and more wins than Dak in 2019. You could argue Dak was better before 2019 because Garoppolo was always hurt, but not this past year.

The Pats are not a good example, when you have the best coach ever and then the GOAT at QB and then the weakest division for years, there you go. Most teams don't have that.

Steelers and Ravens are in the same division beating each other to death and regularly field quality teams in spite of drafting late most years.

It's always been the Garrett legacy.

The meaningless wins while losing the games that actually count. How many 'win and you're in' games did that clown gack up? Conversely, how many meaningless 'wins' has he given us? I know we had one against those same Commanders in 2015 during a 4-12 season that did nothing but knock us out of the #2 overall pick. Then we got another one in 2017 in week 17 against an Eagles team that rested its starters before going on to win the Super Bowl. Anyone else remember that awesome 6-0 'win'? Good times, good times. It gave a mediocre coach a 'winning season' and once again hurt this team's draft standing.

And this year? Choke up the division and hand it to the Eagles. but win the next week when it no longer matters.

The Jason Garrett Legacy. Enjoy it Garrett fans.
The final Commanders game did matter. We had to win that game to keep our slim playoff hopes alive. The eagles just didn't do their part and lose. Yes, we should have taken care of business against philly, but to say the skins game didn't matter is false.

Just go roster spot for roster spot.

QB - 9ers (I’ll take Garoppolo over Dak any day. Much better thrower of the ball)
RB - 9ers (I’ll take their 3 over ours)
WR - Cowboys
TE - 9ers (by a mile)
OL - Cowboys

DT - 9ers
DE - 9ers (DLaw or Bosa?)
LB - 9ers
CB - Cowboys
S - 9ers

The 9ers are better

LOL, FIFY

Slim playoff hopes to do what? Get embarrassed again by a team that's actually good? They lost the game that mattered and won the game that didn't. It's what Garrett does, and what he's always done. He wasted a decade of this franchise, and players careers.

"False" is thinking that this team had any business being anywhere near the playoffs.

2019 was one of the greatest opportunities and run of good luck that this team will ever see. And Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett and Co totally squandered it.

If that were true Cleveland and Cincinnati would be in the AFC championship game each year.

The fact is good drafting involves hitting just as much with your day 3 picks as your first round picks.

And just as importantly....good coaching! (see where I'm going with that comment?)

Would you rather draft #1 or #17? I’m asking for a friend. Lol

I get what you are saying but this argument is kind of turned on it's head by a team like the Patriots, who have been drafting somewhere around 28-32 spot for what seems like forever and still keep making deep playoff runs.

I will say that SF did a great job by those picks you just listed.

Take a look at this draft grade sheet from the 2017 first round.
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/04/2017-nfl-draft-grades-picks-analysis-results
Look at the guys who were taken 16th or below.

Adoree Jackson, TreDavious White, TJ Watt were all still on teh board at the #18 spot.
Those are top tier players.

We could have had TJ Watt. Instead we took Taco who isn't even on our roster anymore after 3 seasons.

Crazy. But anyways, I digress--my point is, we just need to make better use of our top picks like some other teams do.

By the way--read some of the grades on this sheet. Guy who wrote the article looks like a moron. Gave KC a C- for taking Mahomes at #10, said he "isn't anywhere near NFL ready and may never be".

Meanwhile he gave us an A- for the Taco pick. What a dope

I agree that you can get good players on down the list. But to get those good players someone has to pass on them first.

Drafting high is an advantage. That’s why the bad teams get the earlier picks.

By what standard is Jimmy G better than Dak? Jimmy G IS the dink and dunk bus driver that people say Dak is. Two QBs in the league threw the ball shorter than Jimmy - Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater. Dak ranked 6th.

There's just no way you can either watch game OR use stats to say that Jimmy G is better.
