Happy for Cliff, sucks for Drew. The original OG88!

exactly ! .. the originally 88"

Mr clutch... Mr Hail Mary ! .
I'd love more confirmations from the old schoolers that seen game to game in that era, but If Steelers John Stallworth is in the HOF, Pearson should be right there in there as well.
What's holding back the HOF voters with him ?

Another great case for my constant campaign against stats. They mean so little.

Drew Pearson and Cliff Branch should have gone in over every single player they just chose, and 50 before them.

I can only hope they want to honor Drew next year when the class is much smaller than this reset they're doing right now.

The problem in regard to the HOF is that stats mean different things in different eras, but too many voters don't factor it in. Its gotten silly. I read comments from 25 year olds questioning why Roger Staubach was considered so great b/c he never passed for 30 TDs in a season and his career completion % is under 60%. Its funny though. If you look at his numbers, they keep increasing the closer he got to the 1980's. His last season, 1979, was his best statistical year.

There is a northern/east coast bias. Lots of Cowboy hating media among voters.

It's bizarre. The league already selected an all decade team from the 70's and Drew is all decade FIRST team. Harold Carmichael is all decade SECOND team and just got in....

Congrats to Harris, but disgusting that Pearson didn't get in. He's now the ONLY offensive member of the 1970s all decade team not in the hall of fame. Carmichael was a second team WR on the all decade team and he got in today over Pearson.

Every member from the 1st and 2nd all-70's teams is in but Drew.

Drew is also the only member from the all-70's and all-80's 1st teams not in the HOF.
