Cam Newton is going to be available. He would be amazing in Dallas.
I'd rather see Dallas get Cam than pay big money for Dak.
  • Case Keenum is available. He led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game. He is a better deal than Dak.
  • Marcus Mariota will be available. He would be better.
  • Tom Brady will probably be available.
And more.
As I said, I will back Dak if they sign him.
But there are much better options.
And another bash Dak thread. Nothing but trolls running this board these days.

This is a terrible take. Don't worry about the money, quarterbacks are gonna be over paid.
Dak is very good and will get even better under McCarthy. The team loves him and will follow him anywhere.
You should too.

Are any of you guys from the old ESPN Boards from back in the day? If so, this post reminds me of a guy call BoysR (is that you BoysR)?

Is anyone here going to say that Dak is better than Cam Newton?
Really?
And I'd take Case Keenum over Dak.

You are being dishonest with yourself if you say that Dak has proven that he is the best available option at quarterback for the Cowboys.

Dak >>>>>>>Newton, Keenum, Mariota AND Brady.

Comon' now. Newton sucks. Have you seen him play the last couple of years??? Keenum and Mariota shouldn't even be in this league. Brady isn't the same Brady as before. Only has another year or two left.

You are seriously selling Dak short. He is a top 10 QB in the NFL. And you might as well accept the fact he will be a Cowboy. Because he isn't going anywhere.

Good lord. Case Keenum? Mariota? Do you actually watch these guys play? I can't take you serious after saying they are better than Dak. While you are at it, go get Blake Bortles. He made a championship game. I mean, since that is what qualifies as being a good QB.

Vikings moved on from Keenum for a reason. He was never going to lead them anywhere. They needed a fluke last second TD to even get there and then were exposed against the Eagles. Keenum did not lead them anywhere. Their defense led them there.

Mariota is not good. At all. A reason the Titans moved on from him, too.

Youd rather pay a 30 year old cam 34 mil a year than a 26 or 27 year old Dak??

I think what kills me about the nuttier Dak critics is how they're so quick to offer alternatives that are so much worse.

I had a long thing typed about how Mariota was the guy who lost his job to a similar looking career loser on a team where half the job is just giving Derrick Henry the ball over and over, but let me make this real simple:

Mariota WITH Derrick Henry was playing like Dak WITHOUT Zeke. And he lost EVEN MORE.

The problem with Newton is that he's a guy who relied entirely on raw talent who is physically breaking down. It's not 2015, he's collecting shoulder surgeries like people used to collect Beanie Babies or Pogs. I'm not convinced he was ever cut out to be a champion in the pros, but he's definitely not the freak he used to be. Maybe you can imagine him having a Randall Cunningham 1998 season in him but that feels like a stretch, especially since QBs having repeated shoulder problems can rapidly turn into late career Chad Pennington.

Brady is so old that what he'll look like in 2020 is completely uncharted territory. he might have 1 more year in him if he goes to a loaded offensive team. Or he might keel over like 2010 Favre.

Keenum is a career backup with a 27-35 record who just went 1-7. Get out with that stuff lmao.
