I think he might influence Moore's calls. I get the sense that he's going to see how Moore can handle it using his own playbook and help him where he can. I trust McCarthy.
Can't imagine MM being happy with the way it was here. I expect a new system with a hybrid of MM and KM without the old predictable junk. Moore is just too bright and creative. McCarthy is not that stupid. They do need to get the running game involved.

MM...because he has told us all along he wants to adapt better to his players. Its that simple. I trust the guy.

Moore had the #1 offense in the NFL (by yards)

Know how many times the Packers had the #1 offense in the NFL (by yards)?

0.

Doesn't mean Moore is a perfect play caller.

Doesn't mean he can't improve.

But he just did something that Mike McCarthy never accomplished at GB. And it does mean Moore has some smarts when it comes to the offensive side of the ball.

Maybe... Just maybe McCarthy saw something in the kid, figured he could tweak what Moore brings to the table and makes this an even more efficient offense in 2020.

That's the thing that scares me about a McCarthy offense... That 60/40 pass/run ratio isn't a good thing IMO.

Its also going to be more like "Moore calls plays from a subset that McCarthy approved" than McCarthy just delegating this.

You exactly right.........not sure fans can't understand Mike and Kellen will get together during the week and finalize a game plan per game. No question, come game day, they will be on the same page. Of course, Mike's experience will help him see somethings on the game day Kellen may miss......that's the beauty his experience. There's nothing a defensive coor can throw at him where he doesn't have an answer or hasn't seen.

I may not be new, but my optimistic naivete may make it seem so.

Not thrilled to have any holdovers from "the family", but at least now we have a HC who will communicate with the coordinators.

I honestly think this will vary from team to team or game to game depending on the opponent's defensive scheme or injuries by key personnel/players. But I said in another read.......focusing the number of carries Zeke get's in this offense is a mistake.....number of touches will be the key IMO. In other words, I'm looking for Zeke's role being similar to Panthers RB......

"I wanted to make sure we were able to capitalize on what has been established here," McCarthy said.

Very disappointing comment by McCarthy as to his rationale for letting Moore continue to call plays. The offense was abysmal against anyone good and he thinks something good was established that needs to be preserved. Unreal.

Seeing reports on Twitter from that press conference that McCarthy was so impressed with what he saw from Moore in his year away from the game that we would have pursued Moore if he had landed elsewhere. If that's the case, it makes sense that he would do whatever necessary to retain him. Moore wasn't going to take a step backwards by having his play calling duties taken away.

I can see that point of view. but does it necessarily mean the same system or just Moore being involved?

He can implement anything he wants
Teaching the whole team new terminology is not as easy as a guy who’s been around many years learning a new terminology
Plays and approaches change weekly and he can add all he wants

These quotes sound more assuring..."we've got to build this offense"...where are the quotes coming from? Is there an interview today to see somewhere?

McCarthy thinks about building NFL programs 3 to 1 versus offensive schemes. This is a time management thing as much as anything — he said in the King interview that the person installing the offense needs to call plays. He pointed out that’s where things broke down in Green Bay toward the end because he was calling plays but wasn’t involved all week.

So he probably saw that he was going to have a lot to do to build the program the way he wanted, why change so much on Dak at once, and he is still installing his offensive ideas. Not really worried myself.

As long as he steps in and corrects the horrible end of game decisions we made, this is fine.

Examples:

1) Never take your two best WRs off the field on 4th down with the season on the line.
2) Don't let your 90 million dollar RB come off the field on critical 3rd and 4th and 1's because he's tired.
3) If your QB is hot and your running game is not, don't run it twice and then throw an out to your back as the first read on 4th down.

Not sure who is responsible for those decisions between Garrett and Moore - but I do hope McCarthy gives us some competent 4th quarter management.
