That screams transition year..same as before with new management. So, depending on the Draft,FA season,and luck......9-7 to 10-6...wild card team.

Ps. Only 5 coaches have won a Super bowl in their first year in NFL History. Would be cool if McCarthy and Dallas both got 6th in the same year.

Why would you just suddenly change it 100% though after last season? The offense was fairly successful 90% of the time. Sure incorporate some new things from MM but it doesn't need a complete overhaul. MM is smart not doing that IMO. The defense, now that is another story!!

I have mixed feelings about this to be honest

Part of me wanted to see McCarthy *owning* the offense But I was also hopeful that with Jellen retained it would help keep McCarthy sharp and current and willing to allow more innovation.

but It also makes me hopeful. McCarthy is incredibly experienced in this league and achieved the ultimate goal. If, in his first year here, with tremendous pressure to succeed immediately, he believes in Kellen, then I’m going to just have to take his word for it

I was upset at first but knowing it will be MM’s offense as the base makes me feel better about it.

Nothing changes 100 percent. Garrett's offense had some West Coast influence to it and routes are routes. McCarthy might emphasize more three-step drops, more zone blocking, more slants, screens, etc., but it's not like the players are learning to play a different game.

The most important thing is not confusing them because of a language change. Doing the same thing but having it be called something else would be harder on them.

Ok, been gone all day and just saw this! At first I was like oh hell no. But, we did have a potent offense. It just needs some consistency and a better plan. Moore is good, we all know this. Gonna be wild! If I see multiple button hooks I’m gonna scream folks however!! I can’t take anymore.

I agree.. Mix in what worked before and what worked for McCarthy as well. The first year will definitely be interesting. I myself am most interested in what changes will happen on Defense. I hope we have an entirely new scheme. There will be growing pains but it is desperately needed.

This is either going to be really good or really bad. I personally like KM still calling plays. He definitely needs to grow as a play caller. But I'm hoping this allows to McCarthy to concentrate on the game and help the coordinators on both sides of the ball.

Have a little faith....We had the #1 offense by a wide margin....and that was Kellen basically working w/ one arm tied behind his back. Now that he's been set free from Garrett's constraints.....I think your gonna finally see the real offense I thought you were gonna get this season. All the redzone packages that made Boise State one of the highest scoring teams in the nation...they got shelved. Hopefully we will see these 3 TE sets that make the run game go...and are lethal inside the 20.

me too. In fact his top play he told King was Moore’s play. Hard to come in and take over a #1 offense. I think it will be a combo of both, a refinement. He will clean it up.
