If the Cowboys are going to pay top dollar for a quarterback there are better options

Records in their first four years in the league -

Cam Newton: 30-32-1
Dak Prescott: 40-24

Hmm... on that notion in year 5 Cam took the Panthers to the super bowl. Are you implying Dak is going to win it next year?

edelman, traded for sanu, n'keal, they had receivers, just couldn't do anything with them. Obviously Gronk was a huge loss, but brady has consistently made more out of less. And i'm not comparing him and Dak, just acknowledging that he's finally fallen over the proverbial cliff.

Would I take Brady over Dak with his demand for 39mil per year for only 4 years? Yep.

Cam Newton is going to be available. He would be amazing in Dallas.
I'd rather see Dallas get Cam than pay big money for Dak.
  • Case Keenum is available. He led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game. He is a better deal than Dak.
  • Marcus Mariota will be available. He would be better.
  • Tom Brady will probably be available.
And more.
As I said, I will back Dak if they sign him.
But there are much better options.

Good luck with this lot that don't think it's a team game. To them, the rest of the team is only there for an excuse should things not go well with Dak.

They don't understand how capable other QBs could be with this group, or what "value" means.

I didn’t compare them. I was commenting on Brady in a vacuum. I haven’t seen anything to confirm what Dak has ‘demanded’ tho, and I’m curious what you expect a non patriots discount, open market Brady to command.

Actually, that's not what's being argued. Keenum and Mariota are not capable, that's what's being argued. Cam has not been good for several years.

Imagine caring about hall monitors on the interwebz lol

Not sure what a post like that’s supposed to convey. But if you don’t care to follow site guidelines, you eventually get banned.

You like to both flaunt that you don’t care about the guidelines and imply you’re being treated unfairly when that gets you benched. It’s a ridiculous way to behave, even on the internet.

But we’re happy to accommodate you. It probably won’t be long.

Na. I watched them closely this season and Mariota was playing well.
But after some close losses, a change was made.
I don't blame Vrabel, but he'd tell you himself that Mariota was playing well.

You might have watched him closely so you say but you didn’t watch him as close as his coach and you don’t have close to the football knowledge as his coach. And as to the statement that you made about the coach saying he was playing well, that’s just a lie. Here is Vrabel’s actual quote;

"You have to look at the body of work and really just try to evaluate how we want to try to function, the passes that we need to complete, the operation, getting the entire offense," said Vrabel. "To be able to function, score points, move the field, convert third downs" That’s not a statement that Marcus was playing well.

First, the way you write "All these" makes it sound as of there are a boatload of QBs drafted in the last 3 years that are at Dak's level. There aren't. Most have not proven to be at that level. And, while those guys make $10 MM/year now, in a year or two they will be ready for a big payday too, at even more inflated market prices than today. This isn't somehow just something the Cowboys have to deal with. plus, while those guys have been making $10MM, Dak has been earning about $600K per year.

And, there is still the fact that we draft in the #17 spot. Of the guys drafted the last 3 years that have had solid success, only Jackson was draft at that point or later.

But if we draft one of those guys, it will be 5 years before we need to pay them serious money.

How many teams who have drafted 1st round QBs in the last 3 years would trade them for Dak? Would any?

Concerning Dak been underpaid the past four years - you dont pay extra in future years to make up for a perceived underpayment in the past. NFL is a business. If you pay over the odds, the team suffers. It's not "payback time".

Keenum took his team to the NFC Championship.
I haven't seen Keenum throw the ball into the ground on 4th down.
Keenum hasn't wasted the best o-line in the NFL for the past 4 years.
dilfer won a superbowl. Marino didn't...I guess Dilfer is a better QB then...according to your half arsed logic

Yes, Kellen Moore is better than Romo and is STILL the best quarterback in Dallas.
Part of that is Romo's fault for buying in to Garrett's ignorance.
No, you lie when you claim I said Choice was better than Emmitt- which is normal for you and your father, the devil.
I said Tashard Choice could've been the next Emmitt. I still stand by that. TC is a friend of mine, and I saw his potential.
your first sentence clearly shows what an idiot you are.

and if Ranch was still up and available I would throw your dumb arse posts right back at you...so its not available and you think you can lie through your teeth...but there are plenty of viable posters here who know who you are....

Tashard Choice was a never been...….he wished he was a has been. Tashard Choice SUCKED. deal with it.....

Mariota 59% completions, Tannehill 70% completions - 59% is subpar by today's standards.

Yards per attempt: Mariota 7.5, Tannehill 9.6

So not only was Tannehll competing more passes they were longer throws. Mariota was not playing well.
according to the idiot....Vrabel changed his offense after Tannehill took over, which led to the team playing better and tannehill looking better because Vrabel wanted Mariotta to fail...I guess.....

if he thought Kellen Moore was HOF material NFL QB...that should tell you about his ability to evaluate or understand football talent

Now, maybe. Before, no.
Mariota took a pounding.
But he still played better than Dak has, without the weapons Dak has had.
Don't believe the stats. It's the actual games that count.
he took a pounding because he sucked.....tannehill with the same OL isn't taking the pounding..... Mariotta sucked as bad as Tashard Choice......both very awful NFL players in their positions who don't/didn't belong.

and I watched the games...I am sure the tenn. moonshine has had an effect on you since you live in tenn. not sure why you just don't become a Titans fan....it would be good for you and everybody else.

From 2016 to 2018 (the year Dak cake into the league and excluding this year since mariota was benched) mariota was sacked 92 times and Dak was sacked 113 times
seriously you confront this idiot with Facts? he is going to blow the last three brain cells he has left and get even dumber than he already is...

I don't know if you're deliberately lying or just don't know anything. TENN has a good OL.
he is not lying...he has a habit of just making things up...like tashard choice was as good as emmitt smith or Kellen moore was a HOF type QB who was better than Romo

Keenum IS better.
It's not even close.
Keenum when on a good team is a serviceable QB. If you look at Keenums year on the Vikings and his one year in Denver his stats are comparable right there with Dak. Keenum lost all his WRs in Denver that's why he tailed off at the end of the year.
