What's real telling is no other NFL team has hired him as a position coach, much less a DC. In fact, it doesn't appear he's gotten many interviews either. Shows how little NFL people think of him.
I think his personality rubs pros the wrong way. And his technique of not looking for the ball is stupid especially in the pro game with PI being such a huge penalty.

I thought the same. When we were 3-0 I recall a lot of fans, including myself, saying how Richard has really helped this D and he'd be a wonderful replacement for Garrett.

When the Cowboys D started to decline, so did Richard's further job positions.

He’s been interviewing for head coaching jobs. He’s probably trying to take his time because last year he was a legit head coaching candidate. He gets caught up in sucking with the Cowboys now he’s tarnished his name. For whatever reason minorities are having a hard time finding jobs while retreads keep getting jobs. As you can see Jim Caldwell, Hue Jackson, Bienemy.....all are sitting there but I don’t think it’s a reflection on how good or bad they are.

All I saw was New York. Where else did he interview as HC?

His star looks to have quickly fallen. I think the stories of the internal dysfunction in Dallas have gotten around, and Richard was linked to more than one of them.

This is a guy everybody and his brother thought would be an outstanding HC, and he’s not really even getting nibbles it sounds like. Yet another illustration of mob opinion not mapping at all to reality when it comes to how the league really works. Shocking.

yup he might have been the root cause for a possible Marinelli saboteur.he split the defense..

for all we know he so wanted the DC job to himself he became a voice in the ear of players who subconsciously quit on Marinelli..they say Garett did it to wade why not? for ll we knew his ego was such he thought no way he gets let go after the season..

If he still has HC aspirations, coaching at USC (should they become a threat to Oregon and Utah in the Pac 12) or LSU could be his ticket.

To be fair, Jim Caldwell and Hue Hackson are both retreads as well.

I think Bienemy fell victim to the same thing that got Greg Roman, which is they became a casualty of their own success and their teams deep playoff pushes limited the access owners/GMs had to them. Yeah, they could technically interview during their bye weeks, but they couldn’t immerse themselves in the process the same way Ron Rivera and Mike McCarthy could.

I don;t know of there was a nefarious plan that backfired, but the decision to split the defense among two coaches - Richard and Marinelli (or three with Bloom) was a poor one. And stories of friction between all of them made the rounds, but Richard seemed to be at the center of all of them, and I think his inability to coexist with the others bought him his ticket out of town. And all the talk of his "techniques" never materialized into better coverages or more turnovers here.

Ben Bloom too.

We lost two quality coaches in Matt Eberflus and Rich Bisaccia and Garrett replaced them with two clowns clearly not up for the jobs. Two decisions that greatly contributed to Garrett ultimately losing his own job.

Sure he could. Why not?

I said a couple of weeks go that since he got here his stock has slowly fallen a little bit every week. Now it's to the point he isn't getting calls or interviews. Going back to the collegiate ranks might be his best option at this point.

I don’t know. I mean the Commanders and Cowboys weren’t going to go with new guys.
And those were retreads no doubt I wasn’t implying they weren’t I’m just saying guys like Chan Gailey keep getting jobs somehow. That’s the type of retread I’m talking about. Rivera and McCarthy make sense.
