There is no reason to discuss the two together anymore. Romo is really occupying the minds of many on here and I just don't understand it.
I think you make valid points. Some people don't want their QB to do anything but eat, sleep, and breathe Cowboys football, and doing anything outside the stadium is selfish. Everyone watching the game on TV knows what a football player should be doing and feeling at any given moment.
The hate got Dak is way much more than Romo. With Romo most said he was a good regular season QB but failed in the playoffs. With Dak his every throw is criticized over and over.
I find the fact that you would be offended offensive.More! I blame social media and overall football ignorance. As if we could just go out and find a franchise QB anywhere. I hope I didn't offend anyone. I would really be mad at myself if I did. Salud!!!
Yes it isNo, it is not.
The thing that is similar in my view is that as both QBs grew and developed the old narratives stuck because the team wasn’t successful. Not sure bro. I see a lot of hate. Lol.
Yes it is
This, in spades.I actually liked what he said because it showed he understood the big picture. It didn't mean he didn't want to win badly, just that he had the proper perspective about it (which we often don't as fans). That along with the fact that the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys would stop and change an older couple's flat tire on the freeway or pay a destitute person's way into a movie was part of the charm of Romo for me. That and some of his antics on the field not just as an escape artist but as a player who clearly had fun playing the game.

I had big concerns about Dak year 1 and 2, and maybe thought he was turning the corner end of last year. I still preferred to see more before signing him long term. His mechanical changes he made last off season and the accuracy difference it made was big in my opinion.
So Dak has improved year after year and defenses can no longer just clog the middle of the field to shut down the offense. Still to many Dak is still the inaccurate passer he was. So I don’t get that.
I was a huge Romo fan. QBs throw INTs and bad passes. Every time Romo threw an INT he was choker despite all the come back wins and best passer rating in the 4th. Every time Dak throws a bad pass he’ll never be a franchise QB.
Dak is better than Romo at this stage of his career as a total package. The running and lower iNT percentage are important. I see the other elite QBs throw passes that are a little behind their WRs and they are caught, so I don’t know how many guys see that other high quality QBs have throws that aren’t perfect and they do well. We seem to have distorted views on QBs. Aikman has 5 INT games and I remember him getting booed towards the end because we didn’t have the OL to protect him and he wasn’t a creative QB really.
So I’d say the hate is about the same and in both case overblown.
I think the overwhelming majority of what gets deemed "hate" towards Dak is just people saying that he isn't worth 40 million a year. That's not not being a "hater."
Yes, there are some who bash him unfairly, but it is a fraction of what Romo got.
That is so far from the truth it's laughable. It's very clear you don't listen to these guys talk about Dak. But then again you go with what they say because of your own hate for Dak so it makes sense. No it isn't, stop with the revisionist history. There is much more support for Dak in the media than there ever was for Romo. There was absolute vitriol towards Romo early on in his career. The media loves to hate Dallas, they love to see absolute failure, they love to mock us. So Romo giving the Cowboys SOME semblance of hope had them attacking him left and right. And as I just said, the media was outright saying Romo couldn't win a playoff game AFTER his first starting season. They were already considering him a failure.
Nobody in the media is calling Dak a choke artist. The vast majority of the media isn't trying to destroy Dak because he couldn't beat a winning team this season, they have passing comments about that while also saying he deserves big franchise money in the same breath. Romo was never afforded this, he was hated and only just recently started getting praise due to now having better optics away from the star on his helmet and being in the booth.
it simply is not the same. Dak gets about as much criticism as your average mediocre QB, like Cousins and Carr. Romo's critics were on a whole other level.

What was Romo stats his first 4 years in the league, I can bet you anything you want it doesn't even come close to what Dak has done his first 4 years. No, he's not.
You were a big Romo hater and now you’re a big Dak hater. How come?
Four years later. Still Romo v. Prescott threads.
Nobody is saying Romo was treated fairly, the question is who was treated more unfairly and without a doubt it's Dak. You're wrong, like so many other times when it comes to Dak.No, it's not "far from the truth" and anyone on this board will outright tell you the way the media treated Romo early on.
Yes to each their own I’m sure there’s many reasonsHmm, I could say and be very accurate for some, that again SOME liked Dak from the beginning for their own reasons. So it absolutely goes both ways.

I know this was for someone else, butWhat was Romo stats his first 4 years in the league, I can bet you anything you want it doesn't even come close to what Dak has done his first 4 years.
This, in spades.
Especially the overall bigger life comment when he had an hour to stew and calm down after the bad loss, but while at the same time, his dad was battling cancer.
Could never understand how anyone could see it any other way.
