Sure he could. Why not?

I said a couple of weeks go that since he got here his stock has slowly fallen a little bit every week. Now it's to the point he isn't getting calls or interviews. Going back to the collegiate ranks might be his best option at this point.
No shame in it and the money has gotten really good

USC might be where he ends up. Helton is sitting on the hottest of seats and despite the school's (former) prestige, it's going to be hard to hire a premier DC who knows they are essentially on a 1-year deal.

If he still has HC aspirations, coaching at USC (should they become a threat to Oregon and Utah in the Pac 12) or LSU could be his ticket.

There's a better chance that the USC coaching staff gets canned next year.

What's real telling is no other NFL team has hired him as a position coach, much less a DC. In fact, it doesn't appear he's gotten many interviews either. Shows how little NFL people think of him.
Not surprised. The guys claim to fame is he happened to be the Secondary coach for the Legion of Boom. How hard of a gig is that?

He’s been interviewing for head coaching jobs. He’s probably trying to take his time because last year he was a legit head coaching candidate. He gets caught up in sucking with the Cowboys now he’s tarnished his name. For whatever reason minorities are having a hard time finding jobs while retreads keep getting jobs. As you can see Jim Caldwell, Hue Jackson, Bienemy.....all are sitting there but I don’t think it’s a reflection on how good or bad they are.

I agree with you about minorities getting opportunities, but your examples are not good. Both Caldwell and Jackson have both been HC for 2 different clubs. While Caldwell was not horrible, he wasn't great either but Jackson just flat out stunk at both locations 11 wins in 4 years. And Bienemy is an interesting one, I think he did interview for at least the Cleveland job this year. His issue is going to be his availability as long as the Chiefs are making deep playoff runs. But I think he will get his shot sooner rather than later.

I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if these guys even want to be coordinators. But in years past guys have been getting hired off of Super Bowl staffs. Hell Flores got hired from the Pats. It’s just hard to fathom how Judge can get a job over some of these other candidates.

Well I don’t know but I suspect Bill personal recommendation carries a lot of weight with NFL teams.

This is a guy everybody and his brother thought would be an outstanding HC, and he’s not really even getting nibbles it sounds like. Yet another illustration of mob opinion not mapping at all to reality when it comes to how the league really works. Shocking.

That was before this season Idgit, nobody said that about him after this year.

Not surprisingly, his stock fell right along with team performance.

He, along with Garrett, failed miserably this season and that is why both were kicked to the dumpster. Neither one of them are going to be HCs any time soon, they got to go the coordinator route and try to rehabilitate themselves to get another HC opportunity.

For the record, my brother and I were not impressed from day one.
Kris Richard was, is and will always be a poser. Fake tough guy.
He lucked into being a position coach for three All-Pros in Seattle.

Fired as DC once is became apparent the job was too much for him,
despite having Bobby Wagner to lead his defense. No matter what the
Duncan fellow thinks, not retaining Richard is addition by subtraction.

While I'm not exactly thrilled with Mike Nolan, at least players will be taught
to actually resemble a defensive secondary. They need pressure up the middle
on defense and a big body (the Ravens have four in rotation) to plug the middle.

Lol. Exactly. That’s my point. Either he was a great coach, or he wasn’t. Yet fan opinion did a 180 based on a season. The support of fans means nothing because it’s capricious and not based on the coach’s ability.
