There are plenty of true NT's available in this year's free agent class, some will be more expensive then others:

-Chris Jones (huge contract coming, probably won't hit the market)
-D.J. Reader (not just a run stuffer)
-Javon Hargrave
-Michael Pierce
-Michael Brockers
-Andrew Billings
-Timmy Jerrigan

An abundance available this year. Grab one to pair with Woods and the position has been fortified. Hell, draft another.

I like reader because he also pressures the QB

We heard this week, that Nolan will still continue to use a 4 man front base, but they will be more of a hybrid scheme. You can bet that we will see some 3-4 formations as well.

Does the team have the right defensive personnel to play multiple schemes?

-Clearly they need a true, run plugging NT.
-Outside of Crawford, they are little to choose from who can play the 3-4 DE position.

2 Fa's that fit a hybrid scheme:

-Arik Armstead SFO (has played DE in the 3-4, his breakout season has been at DE. Has the ability to kick inside. Armstead could replace Quinn at RE, with the flexibility to play either scheme.

-Vic Beasley ATL (he is more of a 3-4 OLB, but has experience playing linebacker in the 4-3 scheme. Had a few down seasons after his 15.5 sack year. The Cowboys could play him in many different spots in any scheme.
If your throwing that kind of money at it then I'd rather chase Caraun Reed!

Sounds like the Cowboys should kick the tires

Hopefully Nolan can motivate some of the people we have already maybe some decent teaching take them to a new level? I'm thinking that's the route we're going to have to go with all the free agents we have we don't have enough money to go around

This, get one in FA and draft and that is worth 2 wins right there. No more trying to coach up what we have, we have seen the results there, just get new personal in here.

Dallas doesn't have the cap for that. Unfortunately

Dallas has 82 Million in cap space right now, so even 50 Million to Dak and Amari (which it wont) leaves 30 million. Cutting Tyrone Crawford adds another 8 million.

And if they want, they can free up 40 from restructures to Tyron, Martin, Frederick and DLaw.

I agree You also have to take in consideration that Dak and Amari will eat up around 60 million in 2021. That doesnt include Zeke,Tank, Collins,Smith and whoever you sign this year. Have to think down the road.

Why would Dallas pay big money for a DE/LB when they already spent a fortune on Lawrence. They need to find a couple of DT to collapse the middle. Im tired of seeing these QBs get pressured from the outside and step up into the pocket and either throw or take off running.

Armstead will be out of price range. Frankly don't like his production prior to contract season anyhow.

I love Reader, but Sportstrac has his market value at 11.8mill.....might be expensive as well.

Alternatives for about same cost for two players:

A'Shawn Robinson, Lions-Behemoth and strong as an ox. Only 25 yo, so still has room to develop.--5mill

Derek Wolfe, Broncos-A little on the older side, but consistent and has great versatility.--8mill

Shaq Lawson-Can play either 3-4 or 4-3. Tough minded player, good production should come at a reasonable cost.--8mill
