I find it amusing that some here consider Dak and Teddy as "essentially the same QB" but for some reason they believe you can get the "same QB" in the NFL at a much different rate.

Looking at sportrac, they estimate the value of players based off their actual production.

Teddy is "worth" $20 million a year:
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/teddy-bridgewater-14441/market-value/

Dak is "worth" $33 million a year:
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/dak-prescott-19089/market-value/

So giving Teddy $25 million a year, or 120% above his market value, that would be like paying Dak $41+ million a year.

I am not going to OVERPAY for LESS.

That just simple math.
BOOM!!!

Dak finished 4th overall in total QBR (70.1) out of all QBs in the 2019 NFL Season.

Bridgewater didn't even make it on the 1st page, and that's because the Top 30 QBR rated QBs are listed on it with the highest score being at 81.8 (Jackson) and the lowest being at 34.3 (Rudolph). Wow!

Smh

Dak gets more respect around the NFL than he does from his own fanbase. This thread is a perfect example of the disrespect Dak deals with on an ongoing basis lol...

That money you’d save on Bridgewater basically allows you to re-sign Maliek Collins and Anthony Brown. Two guys who are replaceable with draft picks.
Then why are you dropping that much money to resign those guys? The tough decision this offseason is going to be higher end guys like Jones, not Anthony Brown. We can factor the math the form an argument anyway you want. Hell you could say that extra $10MM could be spent on 20 camp bodies that will never see anything more than the practice squad for this team, but those aren't the guys you budget around.

I'm a Dak fan, I just worry that once you lose a guy like Jones this year along with some depth guys, maybe have to make a tough decision on a Michael Gallop soon are you a better team just because you still have Dak, Cooper, Dlaw and Elliott all making insane money?

And yet he won the game.

Dak won the exact same type of game vs NO in 2018 (against Brees no less!) — only difference was we were at home. Guess that must mean Dak > Brees using the same logic as those touting Bridgewater in this thread?

NO is a tough place to play... Their D made life miserable on our offense in exactly the same way our D made life miserable against Brees in 2018. Happens from time to time in the NFL lol

Dont like either option, not for that money anyway. The team desperately needs help on the front 7 in the draft but if a franchise QB falls they should take him. It wont be Tua, Miami is smitten.

If I recall correctly, the defense was credited with winning the game against the Saints in 2018 and we won despite Dak.

At this point we get it! Half this board doesn't want Dak. But it doesn't really matter because he will be signed. It's not a popularity contest. The personnel people in the organization are on board with him as well as the coach.

Can you PLEASE stop all of the posts about how bad Dak is? I'm sure the other half of the board (me included) are tired of it. It would be different if there was a debate about keeping him inside the club but there isn't. If he fails our team will fail with him so we can only root for him to be successful if we care about our teams success.

Can you either support our QB for the next decade instead of constantly ripping him down. I'm hoping that MM does wonders with him and he leads us to the promise land.

Exactly. NO beats us? Bridgewater gets the credit. We beat the Saints? Our D gets the love.

These types of double-standards are applied liberally to Dak. All he does is win games his first three years— and his critics point at his lack of stats. He puts up gaudy stats this year in an 8-8 season, and his critics point at wins as the measure to judge him by.

Pathetic. Unfair. Unreasonable. Absurd. Ridiculous. But that is why we are called “fanatics” lol...
