i don’t get it witt. Giants aren’t even contenders. playing time here in dallas will be minimal with MM now.

He'd better be talking about playing Parcheesi and not football.

His big move of doing color commentary didn't work; the guy has no plan B right now.

This sounds like manufactured BS. Witten's best shot is getting a call from a team dealing with injuries. I don't believe McCarthy sees much value in having Witten on the roster and the Giants have a HC and GM that we have not heard from.

Sounds like the “great” conversation Witt and MM had was basically that he JW doesn’t have a place on this team as a player or a coach lol...

If he wants to play one more year— why not in Dallas as a 3rd TE? Let him get two TDs and get the all time franchise TD record and call it a career.

To go to NY just feels desperate and forced to me... like he just can’t let it go. Would hate to see him try and stay too long in a sport that has been kind to him, only for him to get seriously injured.

You gotta know when to hang em up...

I find it hard to believe that Witten would want to continue his career playing for another team especially for an NFC East rival. For a player to play their entire career for one team is a great honor. He would be foolish to continue his career with the Giants who are a long way from being a contender. I’m not buying it.

Play until you feel you can't Witt! Most athletes don't leave sports by their choice. They leave because no teams want them anymore (cut, released, waived and never signed again) or leave due to injury. Do your thing 82.

All that being said, I think he needs to play elsewhere and if he lands with the Giants...cool. He'll always be the Cowboys HOF TE.
I have sadly seen this happen to all our great ones.

Troy still wanted to play..

Emmitt did..

I can understand not walking from the money and attention, too.

Got to be hard.

Love ya, Jason.

I think he’s at a point, he doesn’t have a fallback. They aren’t asking him to do color commentary and he wasn’t offered a TE position.

Could be all manufactured bs right now

It would make no sense for an aging player who’s pretty much washed up to want to play for a Giants team that’s not even close to contending. The only thing that would be keeping him around is wanting to play in a Super Bowl.

I think the part about Witten wanting to play another year is fact. I think the part about him joining Garrett in NY is speculation. I do believe Witten will one day be a coach. I don't know how good of a coach he will be. He will probably get his first shot with someone who knows and trusts him, so I would expect that to be somewhere other than the Cowboys now that we have moved on to a new regime. Coaching on Garrett's staff would not surprise me.

I think Witten following JG to NY is a wise idea, if it's to be the TE coach.

Oh I agree 100%.

He would be about option 7-8

Third option at TE. Engram, Smith

WR - Shepherd, Tate, Slayton

Barkley
