Stop with the defense was the problem.

The offense was the singular cause of the Philadelphia loss and four others.

The defense played poorly in two losses, Green Bay and Chicago. They also played poorly in a win against Detroit.

So the defense didn't show up three times in 16 weeks, but they are the problem.

Stop with the offense was so great. The offense was the reason Dallas underachieved this year. They were pretenders, not contenders.

Totally agree.

Because of my masochistic tendencies, I decided to fire up this game again.

It is the first time I have watched it since it happened.

It is amazing the perspective you don't get when watching it in the heat of the moment. You see little nuances you missed the first time.

What was so shocking to me was the lack of urgency that the whole team had. It was like they did not care.

Cooper was especially disappointing. Prescott was not on point.

And the defense, well, we know how they underachieved.

I just remember being mad about the game, but watching it again just was depressing.

It makes me wonder if they had no desire to win, because it sure looked like it.

I would encourage everyone who can watch it again do so and then start to decide how they feel about the talent on this team.

Were you convinced we just need to tear it down and tank next year?

Totally agree.
well no all pjhases too their turn being bad this year..

however the OP talking Philly

the defense was not the issue in fact they held philly at 17 for what felt like 20 mins with 3 and outs over and over and over, why the 2nd half the entire team via the Coaches adjusted and Zeke was running better, line was blocking better, and the WR were ALL open.. Dak couldn't hit them, that was the issue..dak in the NE, CHI, Buff and 2nd half of the philly game was flat horrible..he wasn't OFF and it wasn't just the injury , he was nad..

2nd half of the philly game down by 8 for like 20 minutes as the defense held ,. Dak simply couldn't hit wide open WRs and these were chunk yards and easy scores he missed.. it was a Daksaster of a game..but the last month was him..
its ws nt all dak but most of those games down the stretch it WAS,..

I thought they played hard for Garrett. Weren’t we conditioned to believe that?

I like Dak. I wish we could have an elite QB, but that's not him.

But the Eagles game was the first game that made me question his toughness. You expect your best players to play their best in the games that matter. And he was one of the worst in that game, and didn't show the kind of leadership that he made his name on.

You will get no argument from me. I have no sacred cow type fandom no matter if talking coach, player, GM/owner. I call em like I see em and if they sucked on game day, then they sucked. No political correctness or filter here.

Your last three paragraphs read as if you watched the same offense I did all year so I commend you for publicly posting it.

Dak=leader =Fail of said offense.. philly 2nd half we had multiple wide open WRs and a defense holding Philly to that same 8point differential for like 20 FN minutes and Dak missed them ALL>>

however 8-8 thats a total team collapse one game or another all year a phase or player failed us.. hard to fix a single issue when it was the many that failed the few..new year time to let it go.. new staff new era..

lets do this...:thumbup::yourock:

Almost like they tanked on purpose to get rid of.....
the game was really frustrating but it did look like at times they were not playing hard on purpose to get rid of garrett and maybe some of there position coaches maybe even more.

Your take away was about the same as mine when I watched it the first time. I don't need to see that again.

Want to be more of a masochist.... Watch the first Cowboys vs Eagles game and then the second game. Could beat the easily in the first game but when it really counts they play like they di not care if they won or not.

Team looked like they didn’t want to be there, no energy, no excitement, no nothing.

For basically a division championship game, their whole demeanor was just weird. Players sitting on the bench all by themselves, nobody talking to anybody else, Garrett just starring off into space like he mentally just checked out, just seemed odd all the way around.

Who knows what was going on behind the scenes, we are hearing stories now of staff not getting along, players changing plays on their own, co -dcs running completely different schemes, it’s just sounds like a mess.

When things get this bad there is nothing to do but blow it and start over, even JJ finally realized this.

I honestly think they didn’t care if they won or not, no other way to explain it.

So the defense didn't play poorly vs Sam Darnold and the Jets? How about against Minnesota?? I guess we should all forget the Buffalo game too.

Let's go game by game.

NYJ - the Dallas defense gave up 24 points. 21 points were scored in the 1st half. One of those was a 92 yard pass play, the longest against Dallas in 2019. Dallas then gave up 3 points in the 2nd half. So Dallas gave up two TD drives all game, that is not bad.

The problem was the offense. The offense didn't score a TD till the 5 minute mark in the 4th quarter. Had the offense played well in the first half Dallas could have won this game.

Buffalo - Dallas gave up 13 points in the 1st half and 13 points in the 2nd half. Once again the problem was the offense. They scored on the first possession and then took 51 minutes to score again. It's a 60 minute game, the defense had no support.

Minnesota - no unit was at fault. It was a good game.

I believe the trouble most are having is in the losses the offense played so poorly that the defense needed to be perfect. When the defense wasn't and gave up points putting Dallas further behind the fanbase blamed the defense. Even though the points given up were what they had been giving up during wins.

The defense was pretty even keeled this year only having three bad games. It was the offense that was dramatically inconsistent in the wins and losses. In the losses the fanbase became frustrated, lashing out and blaming the whole team for playing poorly for losing instead of blaming the root cause of the loss, the OFFENSE!
