First off Im a Dak fan I like the kid and who he is and how he handles himself. I dont see him being a elite QB at this time and Im not a fan of over paying him. That being said he will get paid around 33 to 35 mill with heavy guarantees. Just my feeling
The problem with our offense is that we poured it on against every bad defense we played and shut off against any decent to good defense. Saints, Packers, Bears, Bills, Vikes, Pats and even second game against a banged up Philly Def. We couldnt score. So the question is were we just that more talented to overtake the lesser defenses or is our scheme so poor that better teams we weren't able to rely just totally on skill alone.
I mean for a team to score so many points but do nothing ( except in garbage time which made things look better in a few games)against the better defenses I feel is a cause for concern. What are your thoughts on this? Was it scheme? Dak? Coaching? Or us overvaluing our talent?

As with virtually everything Cowboys in the Garrett Era, teams knew what the Boys were doing before the Boys knew, on offense and defense.

That's great in all when you are vastly superior talent and/or coaching, but it does not work so good if the talent is similar or a coach is able to counter it.

I am confident that MM will not make the same mistake JG did with his outdated "just beat the man in front of you" from the 90's.

I think it was coaching and the same voice preaching to the entire team. We've seen Dak perform against teams that were better on paper than us. We've seen our defense play above expectations. We just didn't see it last season. In come MM with a different voice and hopefully that takes us to the next level for this current squad.

Dak is a front runner and can play well when the running game and defense are playing well. Against the better teams where the throwing windows are tighter were seeing his accuracy issues show up more. The beginning of games both teams are pumped up but once the other team gets up 30-3 or 26 -7 its only natural to back off and not play as intense on defense as you did in the beginning of the game. Thats Daks garbage time stats. Ive never seen an NFL QB so highly over rated as Dak. In no way should he be getting paid 33 mil but hey it aint my decision and aint my money.

I went and took a quick gander at Dak’s performances since his 2nd season.

In the last 50 games (including playoffs), the Cowboys have won 2 games against teams that finished top 10 in scoring on defense. 2!

One of those games was against Philly in Week 17 in 2017. The 6-0 game against their third string

We haven’t had a QB who had the ability to elevate his game against great defenses to win anything of importance since Troy Aikman. I sure do miss him.

Honestly I don't see how you guys can live with this much hate in your heart towards Dak.

I mean, how can you have a differing opinion than the forum police and look at yourselves in the mirror?

So much hate. So many clandestine agendas. So sad and disheartening. I just don't know if I can respect anyone who isn't madly in love with Dak as our quarterback.

Can't we just stop hating each other and come together around our franchise QB?

This is the Dallas Cowboys. There is no room for individual thought. We need complete uniformity. We need to stop hating

Another BS thread worrying about how much money Dak is going get......what's odd is these same fans are willing to keep him for next 10 if he took a salary of say $10-12M a year. By now every know two major components ( NFL starting QB and market) are driving this machine and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it except posting the same BS in 1000 threads. Hell, I could half-way understand these threads if we were under the cap but we're not ......$80M+. Honestly most of these Dak-getting-paid threads I don't even bother opening now.

Out of how many games total?

2 wins out of 2 games, that would be great. 2 wins in 30 games, that would be bad.

Context people!

Remember when they actually torched the Vikings and Rams though?

The problem was Jason Garrett's garbage conservative offensive approach.

Thank you.......no question this team has some issues but Dak isn't one of them. Odd how these fans never talk about the coaching, defense or special team issues.

:clap::clap:not all is hate. Some is a popularity contest knowing Dak hate threads are guaranteed to get attention. Think about it, we pretty much know where 98% of all poster stand regarding Dak but hear/see it over and over from thread to thread.

13 big fella

2-11 in those games
Good, now go back and look at other QBs and see their records against Top-10 Defenses.

You could be completely correct and Dak has by far the worse record. But I think you just may be surprised that Top-10 Defenses are actually tough on ALL QBs and Teams with Top Defenses typically have really good records for that reason alone.
