With as many free agents as Dallas has, and before any free agent pick-ups have been brought in, it is impossible to get an idea of the team’s chances. Heck, we don’t even know on which side of the ball the draft picks will be used on.

The identity of the 2020 team is completely shrouded in mystery at this point.

I’m not trying to be a party pooper, but speaking for myself, there is no way to have an accurate gauge on what the 2020 Dallas Cowboys will be.

Now, if you want to know if I like the new coaching staff and the immediate direction of the team after all of the changes... the answer is a definite yes. Do I think the team’s coaching will be better? Absolutely. All of the staleness will be gone and new ideas, a new direction, and about a million years of coaching experience has entered the building.

I’m very hopeful that the team will be much better and more focused.

Ceiling: 13-3
Basement: 7-9

Prediction: 12-4

Reason: New coaching staff injects much needed energy into the franchise and early season success produces a lot of confidence and positive swagger... good mojo next year, instead of the bad mojo we had working in 2019

Special teams in particular look great and help us in some key moments.

I’m with this. We had an elite offense and an above average defense.

If we can add a few key pieces and fix the ST. We’re fine

I am assuming we are able to replace the players we lose. Would like to keep Quinn, I am not counting on it but Gregory could be back. Seeing us getting Safety help and DT. Crawford will be gone. Jones also. Betting we still have a heathy Cooper and Jarwin still around.. Elliot should be game ready out of the gate.. Looking for a quick start..

I like the positivity but we just don’t know what direction their going. It could be a partial or total rebuild...

10-6 would be realistic

I don’t see this team making the drastic turnaround in just 1 season.
There will be improvement no doubt, but they will also have a softer schedule.

With a new HC and tweaked Offense and a new DC and ST coach how many wins.. I am going with at least 11.

Having a HC in 2019 that wasn’t a lame duck and named JG would have gotten us another win or 2.

Having a more consistent Defense with maybe a big DT and no confusion on who was the DC could have gotten us a win or 2 extra. No with Marinelli and Richard gone along with the tampa 2 worn out scheme I am expecting some bigger DT and Safety coming in the draft. I think MM likes drafting Safety. One DC with one goal. We are staying with a 4-3. Our new DC has had some bad defenses in the past but it’s about talent.

We all know that our ST was the worst ever. If we had even a medium ST last year we would have won 2 more games at least. They kept missing FG and put our Offense starting deep in our own territory making for longer and stalled drives. Our ST directly took points from our Offense by having us constantly start that deep. We had a #1 Offense and was 8-8. That’s a big reason why.

Dak should improve, he hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. Not sure how much better he will get but anything will help. Elliot should be healthy and in game shape starting the season. Fredbeard will be better also.

Having a good SB winning HC is going to be huge. He is big on planning and strict. Having that structure in place will help immediately. Seems like he is going to come in and add to the Offense instead of changing the whole scheme and playbook. He knows the pieces are in place, just add to it.

Going to be exciting.
Realistically I think this team is 10-12 win team and possibly a NFC championship appearance. I think this season will be more of a learning process but I want to see adjustments and making plays in crucial situations. I can't be mad if they don't win the superbowl or even make it there, I think superbowl or bust would be unfair. Expecting something within a few years though is doable.

But again, I have to see it before believing

3 losses to the Seahawks,Ravens and Niners

4 games that are toss ups; Rams, Steelers,Falcons and Vikings

2 losses to NFC East opponents.

Too many unknowns as to the new identity of this "new" team

9-7 ?

I'm really bad at predictions. I think it's because I really don't care if I'm right or get slammed for being wrong later. Having said that..............I will make a prediction.

I'm going to say the Cowboys go 12-4 and make it to the NFCCG :).

But we lose because MM gets incensed at a horrible call, body slams a ref, and is ejected...........along with half our players because they all decide at the time it would be really cool to pile on.

But it's still progress.

I can only base this on 2019 and had Jerry canned JG last offseason and brought in this same staff with last seasons players, 12-4. We were healthy all season outside of LVE. Going 8-8 was blasphemy. That’s why JG got axed.
